Abstract (data abstract)
Fermilab. Measurement of the LAMBDA and LAMBDABAR polarization produced in deep inelastic polarized muon scattering on the nucleon. A 470 GeV polarized positive muon beam is scattered off hydrogen, deuterium and several nuclear targets. The data cover the X region for 0.0001 to 0.1 with mean X of 0.005 and the Q**2 region from 0.25 to 2.5 GeV**2 with a mean value of 1.3 GeV**2. Results are given for the measured polarization and the polarization after dividing out the diluting effects of the beam polarization (mean = 0.7 +- 0.1) and the photon depolarization factor (in the range 0.4 to 0.5.
