Abstract (data abstract)
ALL DATA IN THIS RECORD ARE REDUNDANT. I.E., THEY WERE OBTAINED DIRECTLY FROM OTHER DATA IN THIS FILE, USUALLY BY EXTRAPOLATION OR INTEGRATION.. THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS ARE TAKEN FROM THE PI N COMPILATION OF R.L. KELLY. THEY ARE THAT COMPILATION& apos;S COMPLETE SET OF COMMENTS FOR PAPERS RELATED TO THE SAME EXPERIMENT (DESIGNATED LIND65) AS THE CURRENT PAPER. (THE IDENTIFIER PRECEDING THE REFERENCE AND COMMENT FOR EACH PAPER IS FOR CROSS-REFERENCING WITHIN THESE COMMENTS ONLY AND DOES NOT NECESSARILY AGREE WITH THE SHORT CODE USED ELSEWHERE IN THE PRESENT COMPILATION.) /// LIND65 [D. L. LIND,PR 138,B1509(1965).] -- CEX DCS AT 431 AND 491 MEV/C. DONE AT LBL 184 IN. CYCLOTRONUSING NEUTRON COUNTERS. THE TOTAL CEX CROSS SECTIONS RECORDED HERE WERE DETERMINED BY LIND65 USING DATA FROM KURZ62 AND CARIS61 IN ADDITION TO THEIR OWN DATA. THE LEGENDRE COEFFICIENT ERRORS (FROM WHICH THE TOTAL CEX CROSSSECTION ERRORS WERE OBTAINED) APPEAR TO BE TOO SMALL BY A FACTOR OF SQRT(2) (SEE CARIS61 FOR DISCUSSION) SO WE HAVE INCREASED THE TOTAL CEX CROSS SECTION ERRORS BY THIS FACTOR. /// LIND64 [D. L. LIND,UCB THESIS,UCRL-11435,1964.] -- /// COMMENTS FROM LOVELACE71 COMPILATION OF THESE DATA -- LOVELACE71 PUTS THESE DATA IN A SPECIAL SECTION RESERVED FOR EXPERIMENTS IN SEVERE DISAGREEMENT WITH OTHERS, AND COMMENTS THAT THE 431 MEV/C DATA DISAGREE WITH CHARGE INDEPENDENCE. /// COMMENTS ON MODIFICATIONS TO LOVELACE71 COMPILATION BY KELLY -- THE LOVELACE71 NE OF 10 PCT WAS REDUCED TO ZERO BECAUSE THE 10 PCT NEUTRON COUNTER EFFICIENCY UNCERTAINTY IS INCLUDED IN THE INDIVIDUAL ERRORS.
