Abstract (data abstract)
CERN-LHC. Limits set on 2q2l contact interactions, and limits set on the visible cross section times branching ratio to two leptons, in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with 139 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected by ATLAS. The final states used are 2 electrons, and 2 muons. This result uses the same dataset, with the same acceptance and efficiency, as the earlier search for high-mass dielectron and dimuon resonances: https://www.hepdata.net/record/88425. The ee-const fiducial region is defined as: - Two electrons, any charge - Electron $E_T>30$ GeV - Electron $|\eta|>1.37$ or $1.52<|\eta|<2.47$ - Highest $E_T$ electron pair selected - The electron pair's invariant mass $2200<m_{ee}<6000$ GeV The ee-dest fiducial region is defined as: - Two electrons, any charge - Electron $E_T>30$ GeV - Electron $|\eta|>1.37$ or $1.52<|\eta|<2.47$ - Highest $E_T$ electron pair selected - The electron pair's invariant mass $2770<m_{ee}<6000$ GeV The mm-const fiducial region is defined as: - Not satisfying an electron fiducial region - Two muons, opposite charge - Muon $p_T>30$ GeV - Muon $|\eta|>2.5$ - Highest $p_T$ opposite charged muon pair selected - The muon pair's invariant mass $2070<m_{\mu\mu}<6000$ GeV The mm-dest fiducial region is defined as: - Not satisfying an electron fiducial region - Two muons, opposite charge - Muon $p_T>30$ GeV - Muon $|\eta|>2.5$ - Highest $p_T$ opposite charged muon pair selected - The muon pair's invariant mass $2570<m_{\mu\mu}<6000$ GeV
