Measurement of prompt $J/\psi$ and beauty hadron production cross sections at mid-rapidity in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 7$ TeV

Abstract (data abstract)
CERN-LHC. Measurement of the differential and integrated cross sections for prompt and non-prompt J/PSI production in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The data cover the mid-rapidity region with |y|<0.9 and are presented as a function of PT. The data is obtained from a sample of integrated luminosity 5.6nb-1 with J/PSI particles identified through their decay to electron pairs. The sample is separated into prompt and non-prompt production through determining the fraction of J/PSIs from the decay of long-lived b-hadrons.
