Measurement of the $t\bar{t}$ Production Cross Section in the $\tau$ +Jets Channel in $pp$ Collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 7$ TeV

Abstract (data abstract)
CERN-LHC. Measurement of the cross section for top-quark pair production in proton -proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, using events with one jet identified as a hadronically-decaying TAU lepton and at least four additional jets, at least one coming from a b-quark. The data sample used has an integrated luminosity of 3.9 fb-1 recorded using a dedicated multijet plus hadronically decaying TAU trigger. Separation of the top-quark pairs from the W+jets and multijet backgrounds uses a neural network.
