Measurement of the t-channel single-top-quark production cross section and of the $\mid V_{tb} \mid$ CKM matrix element in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$= 8 TeV

Abstract (data abstract)
CERN-LHC. Measurements are presented of the t-channel single-top-quark production cross section in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 8 TeV. The results are based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 inverse femtobarns recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC during 2012. The cross section is measured inclusively, as well as separately for top quarks and antiquarks, in final states with a muon or an electron. The ratio of the inclusive production cross section measured using the 8 TeV dataset and a 7 TeV dataset, the ratio of the top quark and antiquark production cross sections and the modulus of the CKM matrix element V(TB) are also measured.
