Abstract (data abstract)
Measurement of the differential cross section for Zgamma production in proton-proton collisions at 8 TeV using a data sample of integrated luminosity of 19.5 fb-1 collected by the CMS experiment. The Z decay channels into muon and electron pairs are considered. The differential cross section as function of pT(gamma) is measured for a restricted phase space defined by: - |eta(l)| < 2.5, pT(l) > 20 GeV - Mass(ll) > 50 GeV - |eta(gamma)| < 2.5 - DeltaR(l, gamma) > 0.7 with l = muon, electron. In additon an isolation of less than 5 GeV in a cone of DeltaR = 0.3 around the photon is required. The cross section is measured inclusively and with a veto on jets where jets are reconstructed using the anti-kt algorithm with distance parameter DeltaR = 0.5. Only jets with pT > 30 GeV and |eta| < 2.4 are used for the veto. The cross sections are fully corrected for detector effects.
