Abstract (data abstract)
CERN-LHC. Measurement of the tW production cross section in the single-lepton final state using proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with 36 fb^-1 of data collected in 2016. Events are selected that contain single muon or electrons, and then subdivided into signal and control regions based on jet topology. Signal events must contain exactly 3 jets. a ttbar enriched region contains exactly 4 jets. A W+jets and QCD enriched region contains exactly 2 jets. In all three regions exactly one jet must pass b-tagging requirements. A BDT is trained to separate the signal tW from the dominant ttbar background, and a profile likelihood fit is used to extract the tW cross section.
