A measurement of the top quark pole mass $m_{\\text{t}}^{\\text{pole}}$ in events where a top quark-antiquark pair ($\\text{t}\\overline{\\text{t}}$) is produced in association with at least one additional jet ($\\text{t}\\overline{\\text{t}}$+jet) is presented. This analysis is performed using proton-proton collision data at $\\sqrt{s}=$ 13 TeV collected by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 36.3fb$^{-1}$. Events with two opposite-sign leptons in the final state ($\\text{e}^{+}\\text{e}^{-}$, $\\mu^{+}\\mu^{-}$, $\\text{e}^{\\pm}\\mu^{\\mp}$) are analyzed. The reconstruction of the main observable and the event selection are optimized using multivariate analysis techniques based on machine learning. The production cross section is measured as a function of the inverse of the invariant mass of the $\\text{t}\\overline{\\text{t}}$+jet system at the parton level using a maximum likelihood unfolding. Given a reference parton distribution function (PDF), the top quark pole mass is extracted using the theoretical predictions at next-to-leading order. For the ABMP16NLO PDF, this results in $m_{\\text{t}}^{\\text{pole}}=172.94\\pm1.37$.","hasPart":[{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.127990.v2/t1","@type":"Dataset","description":"Absolute differential cross section as a function of the rho observable at parton level.","name":"parton_abs_rho"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.127990.v2/t2","@type":"Dataset","description":"Covariance matrix for the total uncertainty (i.e. fit including stat., not extrapolation) for the measurement of the absolute differential cross...","name":"parton_abs_rho_covariance_total"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.127990.v2/t3","@type":"Dataset","description":"Covariance matrix for the statistical uncertainty for the measurement of the absolute differential cross section as a function of the...","name":"parton_abs_rho_covariance_stat"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.127990.v2/t4","@type":"Dataset","description":"Covariance matrix for the extrapolation uncertainty for the measurement of the absolute differential cross section as a function of the...","name":"parton_abs_rho_covariance_extrapolation"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.127990.v2/t5","@type":"Dataset","description":"Normalized differential cross section as a function of the rho observable at parton level.","name":"parton_norm_rho"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.127990.v2/t6","@type":"Dataset","description":"Covariance matrix for the total uncertainty (i.e. fit including stat., not extrapolation) for the measurement of the normalized differential cross...","name":"parton_norm_rho_covariance_total"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.127990.v2/t7","@type":"Dataset","description":"Covariance matrix for the statistical uncertainty for the measurement of the normalized differential cross section as a function of the...","name":"parton_norm_rho_covariance_stat"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.127990.v2/t8","@type":"Dataset","description":"Covariance matrix for the extrapolation uncertainty for the measurement of the normalized differential cross section as a function of the...","name":"parton_norm_rho_covariance_extrapolation"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.127990.v2/t9","@type":"Dataset","description":"Correlation matrix for all nuisance parameters and parameters of interest of the Likelihood fit.","name":"fit_np_correlation"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.127990.v2/t10","@type":"Dataset","description":"This table is a numerical representation of Fig. 8 for all nuisance parameters.","name":"np_impacts_pulls"}],"identifier":[{"@type":"PropertyValue","propertyID":"HEPDataRecord","value":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/ins2106483?version=2"},{"@type":"PropertyValue","propertyID":"HEPDataRecordAlt","value":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/127990"}],"inLanguage":"en","name":"Measurement of the top quark pole mass using $\\mathrm{t\\bar{t}}$+jet events in the dilepton final state in proton-proton collisions at $\\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV","provider":{"@type":"Organization","name":"HEPData"},"publisher":{"@type":"Organization","name":"HEPData"},"url":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/ins2106483?version=2","version":2}
