The $\\phi$(1020) mesons were reconstructed from their KK decay channel (B.R. = 0.491) and correlated with a high momentum ($4.0 < p_{\\mathrm{T}} < 8.0 \\mathrm{~GeV}/c$) trigger hadron acting as a jet proxy. These angular correlations were separated into a near-side jet region, an away-side jet region, and an underlying event (UE), allowing for a comparison between jet and UE production. Di-hadron correlations were also measured to compare against. The correlations were performed in a lower ($1.5 < p_{\\mathrm{T}} < 2.5 \\mathrm{~GeV}/c$) and a higher ($2.5 < p_{\\mathrm{T}} < 4.0 \\mathrm{~GeV}/c$) associated momentum range. Jet yields for h--$\\phi$ pairs in the lower associated momentum range show a hint of an increase with increasing event multiplicity. To further study $\\phi$ production, the ratio of (h--$\\phi$)/(h--h) pairs was measured separately in the near-side jet, away-side jet, and UE regions. This ratio shows a clear ordering for all multiplicities and both assocaited momentum ranges, with the UE ratio significantly higher than the ratio in the jets. It is also seen that the ratio in the jets at lower associated momentum shows hints of an increase with multiplicity, which is not seen in the higher associated momemtum measurement. The UE ratio shows no depdendence on charged particle multiplicity, and invites further study to search for an onset of strangeness enhancement at lower multiplicities.","hasPart":[{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.156122.v1/t1","@type":"Dataset","description":"Pet-trigger h--$\\phi$ and h--h pair yields within the near and away-side jet peaks as a function of charged particle multiplicity...","name":"Table 1"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.156122.v1/t2","@type":"Dataset","description":"Pet-trigger h--$\\phi$ and h--h pair yields within the near and away-side jet peaks as a function of charged particle multiplicity...","name":"Table 2"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.156122.v1/t3","@type":"Dataset","description":"Pairwise (h--$\\phi$)/(h--h) ratio vs $\\langle N_{\\mathrm{ch}} \\rangle$ for the lower associated momentum range, $1.5 < p_{\\mathrm{T, assoc}} < 2.5 \\mathrm{~GeV}/c$...","name":"Table 3"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.156122.v1/t4","@type":"Dataset","description":"Pairwise (h--$\\phi$)/(h--h) ratio vs $\\langle N_{\\mathrm{ch}} \\rangle$ for the higher associated momentum range, $2.5 < p_{\\mathrm{T, assoc}} < 4.0 \\mathrm{~GeV}/c$...","name":"Table 4"}],"identifier":[{"@type":"PropertyValue","propertyID":"HEPDataRecord","value":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/ins2789575?version=1"},{"@type":"PropertyValue","propertyID":"HEPDataRecordAlt","value":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/156122"}],"inLanguage":"en","name":"Investigating strangeness enhancement in jet and medium via $\\phi$(1020) production in p$-$Pb collisions at $\\sqrt{s_{\\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV","provider":{"@type":"Organization","name":"HEPData"},"publisher":{"@type":"Organization","name":"HEPData"},"url":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/ins2789575?version=1","version":1}
