The analysis examines decay modes where one $\\mathrm{a}_1$ decays into a pair of tau ($\\tau$) leptons and the other decays into either another pair of $\\tau$ leptons or a pair of muons ($\\mu$). The $\\mathrm{a}_1$ mass probed in this study ranges from $4$ to $15~\\mathrm{GeV}$. The data sample used was recorded by the CMS experiment in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of $13~\\mathrm{TeV}$ and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of $138~\\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. No excess above standard model expectations is observed. The study combines the $2\\mu2\\tau$ and $4\\tau$ channels to set upper limits at 95% confidence level on the product of the H boson production cross section and the branching fraction to the $4\\tau$ final state, relative to the H boson production cross section in the standard model. In this interpretation, the ($\\mathrm{a}_1$) boson is assumed to have Yukawa-like couplings to fermions, with coupling strengths proportional to the respective fermion masses. The observed (expected) upper limits range between $0.007$ $(0.011)$ and $0.079$ $(0.066)$ across the mass range considered. The results are also interpreted in the context of models with two Higgs doublets and an additional complex singlet field.","hasPart":[{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.158360.v1/t1","@type":"Dataset","description":"The observed and expected upper limits at 95% confidence level on the product of the signal cross section and the...","name":"Figure 9"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.158360.v1/t2","@type":"Dataset","description":"The observed and expected upper limits at 95% CLs on $\\sigma (\\mathrm{pp} \\to \\mathrm{H}+\\text{X}) {\\mathcal{B}} (\\mathrm{H} \\to \\mathrm{a}_1\\,\\mathrm{a}_1)$, relative to...","name":"Figure 10 (top left)"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.158360.v1/t3","@type":"Dataset","description":"The observed and expected upper limits at 95% CLs on $\\sigma (\\mathrm{pp} \\to \\mathrm{H}+\\text{X}) {\\mathcal{B}} (\\mathrm{H} \\to \\mathrm{a}_1\\,\\mathrm{a}_1)$, relative to...","name":"Figure 10 (top right)"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.158360.v1/t4","@type":"Dataset","description":"The observed and expected upper limits at 95% CLs on $\\sigma (\\mathrm{pp} \\to \\mathrm{H}+\\text{X}) {\\mathcal{B}} (\\mathrm{H} \\to \\mathrm{a}_1\\,\\mathrm{a}_1)$, relative to...","name":"Figure 10 (bottom left)"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.158360.v1/t5","@type":"Dataset","description":"The observed and expected upper limits at 95% CLs on $\\sigma (\\mathrm{pp} \\to \\mathrm{H}+\\text{X}) {\\mathcal{B}} (\\mathrm{H} \\to \\mathrm{a}_1\\,\\mathrm{a}_1)$, relative to...","name":"Figure 10 (bottom right)"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.158360.v1/t6","@type":"Dataset","description":"The observed and expected 95% CL upper limits on $\\sigma (\\mathrm{pp} \\to \\mathrm{H}+\\text{X}) {\\mathcal{B}} (\\mathrm{H} \\to \\mathrm{a}_1\\,\\mathrm{a}_1)$, relative to $\\sigma_\\text{SM}$,...","name":"Figure 11 (top left)"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.158360.v1/t7","@type":"Dataset","description":"The observed and expected 95% CL upper limits on $\\sigma (\\mathrm{pp} \\to \\mathrm{H}+\\text{X}) {\\mathcal{B}} (\\mathrm{H} \\to \\mathrm{a}_1\\,\\mathrm{a}_1)$, relative to $\\sigma_\\text{SM}$,...","name":"Figure 11 (top right)"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.158360.v1/t8","@type":"Dataset","description":"The observed and expected 95% CL upper limits on $\\sigma (\\mathrm{pp} \\to \\mathrm{H}+\\text{X}) {\\mathcal{B}} (\\mathrm{H} \\to \\mathrm{a}_1\\,\\mathrm{a}_1)$, relative to $\\sigma_\\text{SM}$,...","name":"Figure 11 (bottom left)"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.158360.v1/t9","@type":"Dataset","description":"The observed and expected 95% CL upper limits on $\\sigma (\\mathrm{pp} \\to \\mathrm{H}+\\text{X}) {\\mathcal{B}} (\\mathrm{H} \\to \\mathrm{a}_1\\,\\mathrm{a}_1)$, relative to $\\sigma_\\text{SM}$,...","name":"Figure 11 (bottom right)"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.158360.v1/t10","@type":"Dataset","description":"The observed and expected 95% CL upper limits on $\\sigma (\\mathrm{pp} \\to \\mathrm{H}+\\text{X}) {\\mathcal{B}} (\\mathrm{H} \\to \\mathrm{a}_1\\,\\mathrm{a}_1)$, relative to $\\sigma_\\text{SM}$,...","name":"Figure 12 (top left)"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.158360.v1/t11","@type":"Dataset","description":"The observed and expected 95% CL upper limits on $\\sigma (\\mathrm{pp} \\to \\mathrm{H}+\\text{X}) {\\mathcal{B}} (\\mathrm{H} \\to \\mathrm{a}_1\\,\\mathrm{a}_1)$, relative to $\\sigma_\\text{SM}$,...","name":"Figure 12 (top right)"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.158360.v1/t12","@type":"Dataset","description":"The observed and expected 95% CL upper limits on $\\sigma (\\mathrm{pp} \\to \\mathrm{H}+\\text{X}) {\\mathcal{B}} (\\mathrm{H} \\to \\mathrm{a}_1\\,\\mathrm{a}_1)$, relative to $\\sigma_\\text{SM}$,...","name":"Figure 12 (bottom left)"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.158360.v1/t13","@type":"Dataset","description":"The observed and expected 95% CL upper limits on $\\sigma (\\mathrm{pp} \\to \\mathrm{H}+\\text{X}) {\\mathcal{B}} (\\mathrm{H} \\to \\mathrm{a}_1\\,\\mathrm{a}_1)$, relative to $\\sigma_\\text{SM}$,...","name":"Figure 12 (bottom right)"}],"identifier":[{"@type":"PropertyValue","propertyID":"HEPDataRecord","value":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/ins2959279?version=1"},{"@type":"PropertyValue","propertyID":"HEPDataRecordAlt","value":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/158360"}],"inLanguage":"en","name":"Search for light pseudoscalar boson pairs produced from Higgs boson decays using the 4$\u03c4$ and 2$\u03bc$2$\u03c4$ final states in proton-proton collisions at $\\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV","provider":{"@type":"Organization","name":"HEPData"},"publisher":{"@type":"Organization","name":"HEPData"},"url":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/ins2959279?version=1","version":1}
