Abstract (data abstract)
CERN-LEP. Measurement of the cross sections and forward-backward asymmetries in E+ E- annihilation into hadrons and lepton pairs. The data amount to an integrated luminosity of 243.7 pb-1 (25864 hadronic and 8573 lepton pair events) and cover the centre of mass energies between 130 and 189 GeV. The data are divided into two samples depending on the values of the effective centre of mass energy SPRIME due to the initial state radiation. The high energy events require SQRT(SPRIME) & gt; 60 GeV (75 GeV) for hadronic (lepton pair) events. For the Bhabha scattering data the acollinearity angle (ZETA) is used to define the data sets. This paper reports new measurements at 182.7 and 188.7 GeV plus a smaller data sample at 130.0 ans 136.1 GeV. Data from a previous publication (PL B470(97)361) between 161 and 172 GeV are given, corrected to correspond to the kinematic cuts used in this analysis.
