Measurement of the WW+WZ Production Cross Section Using the Lepton+Jets Final State at CDF II

Abstract (data abstract)
Fermilab-Tevatron. Measurement of the cross section for the production of (WW+WZ) in PBAR P collisions at a centre of mass energy of 1.96 TeV from events containing an electron or muon, missing transverse energy and jets. The analysis uses two independent methods. One using the dijet invariant mass distribution and the second using more kinematical information in the event through matrix element calculations of signal and background processes which has a higher sensitivity. Method one uses a data sample of integrated luminosity 3.9 fb-1 and method two uses 2.7 fb-1 but is expected to achieve greater discriminating power.
