Measurments of the Bose-Einstein correlations (BEC) between pairs of identical particles produced in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 0.9 and 7 TeV. The data used are minimum-bias events (4.2M at 0.9 TeV and 2.7M at 7 TeV)  with charged particles  required to have |eta| &lt; 2.4 and PT &gt; 200MeV.  The following is a definition of the quantity measured:\n\nR_double is defined as ratio between (DN/DQ)/(DNref/DQ) and the equivalent quantity from simulated Monte Carlo events (without BEC effects), where N is the number of 'real' events and Nref the number 'reference' events derived from combining identical particles from different events with similar charged particle  multiplicites and in similar pseudorapidity regions.  Q is the Lorentz-invariant quantity equal to the  square-root of the negative squared difference in four momentum of the two identical particles.
