In a study of the production mechanism of quasi-two-body final states at the five incident π+ momenta 2.95, 3.2, 3.5, 3.75, and 4.08 GeV/c, approximately 40 000 events with four outgoing charged particles were investigated. The cross sections for the processes π+p→N*++ρ, π+p→N*++ω, π+p→N*++η, and π+p→N*++f have been measured as a function of the pion energy. The differential cross sections and the decay density-matrix elements are discussed in terms of one-meson-exchange models [with absorption (OPEA) and with form factor (OPEW)] and Regge models. For the N*++ρ and the N*++ω reactions, the joint-decay matrix elements are calculated. The formation of N*(2850) in the direct channel is also investigated.

Walck, C. ; Carlsson, R. ; Ekspong, G. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 100 (1975) 61-73, 1975.
Inspire Record 104375 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.36103

Single and joint decay angular distributions in the reaction p p → Δ ++ Δ ++ at 9.13 GeV/ c are discussed in the framework of single and double statistical tensors. The t dependence of 12 double statistical tensors is presented. Cross sections for p p → p p π + π − and p p → Δ ++ Δ ++ are determined to be 2.60 ± 0.10 and 0.90 ± 0.10 mb respectively. The results obtained are compared with other experiments mainly at 5.7 and 12 GeV/ c .

Single Pion Production in anti-Proton-Proton Interactions

Stenbacka, R. ; Ekspong, G. ; Holmgren, S.O. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 135 (1978) 20-44, 1978.
Inspire Record 134909 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.35129

Single-pion production in p p interactions at 9.1 GeV/ c is analysed and cross sections are given. The p lab dependence of the isospin amplitudes is determined by a fit to the world data. The data are also compared with the predictions of a reggeized Deck model. The results and the N π N amplitudes are compared with the results at other energies and with the corresponding N π N amplitudes.

Inclusive Production of Vector and Tensor Mesons in anti-Proton-Proton Annihilation and Nonannihilation Interactions at 9.1-GeV/c

The LIVERPOOL-STOCKHOLM collaboration Markytan, M. ; Johnson, P. ; Mason, P. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 143 (1978) 263-284, 1978.
Inspire Record 136559 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.8198

Cross sections have been determined for the inclusive production of vector (ϱ 0 , ω, K ∗ ) and tensor (f, A 2 ± ) mesons in p p reactions at 9.1 GeV/c for both annihilation and non-annihilation processes. Distributions in the Feynman variable x and transverse momentum squared, p T 2 , have been examined for the ϱ 0 , ω and f mesons. The slopes for p T 2 appear to be exponential and decrease with increasing particle mass for both annihilation and non-annihilation reactions, furthermore the slopes have consistently higher values for non-annihilation reactions. Comparisons with other data indicate that the ratio ϱ 0 / π − is independent of antiproton momentum in annihilation processes.

Observation of Three Upsilon States

Phys.Rev.Lett. 44 (1980) 1108, 1980.
Inspire Record 152393 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20733

Three narrow resonances have been observed in e+e− annihilation into hadrons at total energies between 9.4 and 10.4 GeV. Measurements of mass spacing and ratios of lepton pair widths support the interpretation of these "ϒ" states as the lowest triplet-S levels of the bb¯ quark-antiquark system.

Observation of a Fourth Upsilon State in e+ e- Annihilations

The CLEO collaboration Andrews, D. ; Berkelman, Karl ; Cabenda, R. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 45 (1980) 219, 1980.
Inspire Record 153182 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20674

A fourth state in the upsilon energy region has been seen in e+e− collisions at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring. A resonance is observed with a mass 1112±5 MeV above the lowest upsilon state. The 9.6-MeV rms width is greater than the 4.6-MeV energy resolution of the e+e− beams. The observed characteristics of the new state make it a likely candidate for the 4S3 state of the bb¯ system, lying above the threshold for the production of B mesons.

Measurement of the Ratio of Total and Differential Cross-sections on Neutron and Proton for Charged Current Neutrino Events

The BEBC TST Neutrino collaboration Armenise, N. ; Calicchio, M. ; Erriquez, O. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 102 (1981) 374-380, 1981.
Inspire Record 164906 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.31183

Charged-current neutrino interactions have been analysed in a sample of pictures from BEBC equipped with a TST. Using a method independent of both the neutrino flux and nuclear interaction corrections, the ratio R = σ n / σ p has been measured. The result is R =1.98±0.19 for the ratio of total cross sections. Bjorken x distributions for proton and neutron targets and for u and d quarks are compared.

Inspire Record 11268 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.34079

Measurements of the differential cross section for proton-deuteron elastic scattering are reported for incident proton momenta ranging from 20 to 210 GeV and for invariant four-momentum transfers of 0.6 ≤ − t ≤ 3.0 GeV 2 . The results are in disagreement with a very simple Glauber double scattering model calculation.

Determination of the Neutral to Charged Current Cross-section Ratio for Neutrino Interactions on Protons

The BEBC TST Neutrino collaboration Armenise, N. ; Calicchio, M. ; Erriquez, O. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 122 (1983) 448-454, 1983.
Inspire Record 182504 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30812

About 2000 neutral induced interactions observed inside the hydrogen filled TST in BEBC have been analysed. The data were obtained from an exposure to the v μ wide band beam at the CERN SPS. A separation of these events into charged current, neutral current and neutral hadron induced interactions have been achieved using a multidimensional kinematic analysis. The neutral to charged current cross section ratio for v μ interactions on free protons has been determined avoiding the drastic cuts on the data inherent in previous experiments. The result R P v = 0.47 ± 0.04 is compatible with those measurements and the prediction of the standard SU (2) × U (1) model for sin 2 θ W = 0.18 ± 0.04.
