Differential cross sections and polarisations in the reaction π + p→K + Σ + have been measured using the Rutherford Multiparticle Spectrometer at NIMROD. Data are presented at 26 momentum points at approximately 50 MeV/ c intervals in the range 1.282 to 2.473 GeV/ c with an order of magnitude more events than previous experiments. Legendre polynomial expansion coefficients have also been determined.

Spin Effects in $p p$ Elastic Scattering at 28-{GeV}/$c$

Hansen, P.H. ; O'Fallon, J.R. ; Danby, G.T. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 50 (1983) 802, 1983.
Inspire Record 182130 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20535

The analyzing power, A, was measured in proton-proton elastic scattering with use of a polarized proton target and 28-GeV/c primary protons from the alternating-gradient synchrotron. Over the P⊥2 range of 0.5 to 2.8 (GeV/c)2, the data show interesting structure. There is a rather sharp dip at P⊥2=0.8 (GeV/c)2 corresponding to the break in the elastic differential cross section at the end of the diffraction peak.

Inclusive $\bar{\Lambda}$ Polarization in $K^+ p$ Interactions at 32-{GeV}/$c$ and 70-{GeV}/$c$

Phys.Lett.B 121 (1983) 183, 1983.
Inspire Record 179546 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.41221

We present results on the inclusive polarization of Λ hyperons produced in K + p interactions at 32 and 70 GeV/ c . A large positive Λ polarization is observed in the kaon fragmentation region. The polarization is energy independent, increases strongly with increasing x , but shows essentially no p T -dependence.

Measurements of Spin Parameters in $p p$ Elastic Scattering at 6-{GeV}/$c$

Linn, S.L. ; Perlmutter, A. ; Crosbie, E.A. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 26 (1982) 550, 1982.
Inspire Record 11848 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.23900

We measured the differential cross section for proton-proton elastic scattering at 6 GeV/c, with both initial spins oriented normal to the scattering plane. The analyzing power A shows significant structure with a large broad peak reaching about 24% near P⊥2=1.6 (GeV/c)2. The spin-spin correlation parameter Ann exhibits more dramatic structure, with a small but very sharp peak rising rapidly to about 13% at 90°c.m.. This sharp peak may be caused by particle-identity effects.

Measurement of Polarized Target Asymmetry in $\gamma d \to p n$ in the Photon Energy Region Between 0.3-{GeV} and 0.7-{GeV}

Ohashi, Y. ; Awaji, N. ; Hayashii, H. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 110 (1982) 441-444, 1982.
Inspire Record 176585 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30974

The target asymmetry in γ d → pn has been measured at proton c.m. angles of 70°, 100° and 130° in the photon energies between 0.3 and 0.7 GeV. Results show relatively small asymmetry values in contrast to large proton polarizations. A phenomenological analysis by Ikeda et al. does not reproduce the present data, especially in the lower energy region.

The polarization parameters of the pn elastic scattering were measured at beam momenta between 1.30 and 1.82 GeV/c. The results are discussed in comparison with the partial-wave analysis of Hashimoto and Hoshizaki.

MEASUREMENT OF THE POLARIZATION PARAMETER IN 24-GeV/c PROTON NEUTRON ELASTIC SCATTERING

Crabb, D.G. ; Kyberd, P. ; Salmon, G.L. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 201 (1982) 365-382, 1982.
Inspire Record 181092 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.34198

The polarization parameter in pn elastic scattering has been measured at 24 GeV/ c over the range of four-momentum transfer squared 0.1 < | t | < 1.25 (GeV/ c ) 2 , and found to be negative except for a zero at | t | = 0.65 (GeV/ c ) 2 .

MEASUREMENT OF THE POLARIZATION FOR THE REACTIONS K+ N ---> K+ N AND K0 P AT 1.06-GEV/C, 1.28-GEV/C, 1.39-GEV/C AND 1.49-GEV/C

Phys.Lett.B 112 (1982) 75-79, 1982.
Inspire Record 179758 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30955

The polarization for the K + n elastic and charge-exchange reactions was measured at the momenta of 1.06, 1.28, 1.39 and 1.49 GeV/ c . It was found to be negative for the K + n elastic process and generally positive for the charge-exchange process. The present results are compared with the predictions of phase shift analyses.

The spin-spin correlation parameter CLL=(L, L; 0, 0) has been measured for p−p elastic scattering around θc.m.=90° up to plab=5 GeV/c. An interesting energy dependence is observed in CLL and the results are interpreted by comparison with other available data.
