Forward differential cross sections for isospin-1 bosons produced in p+p→d+x+ were measured using a deuteron missing-mass spectrometer at a small angle between 4.0- and 12.3−GeVc incident momentum. Differential cross sections for π+ and ρ+ were extracted from the spectra using phase-space backgrounds. They range from 10.4 to 0.4 μb/sr for π+ and from 1.4 to 0.3 μb/sr for ρ+. A bump near 6 GeVc appears in both dπ and dρ channels. No clear evidence is seen for higher-mass bosons. The possible δ+ cross sections average less than 0.01 μb/sr.

PHOTOPRODUCTION OF eta0 MESONS AT 4-Gev

We have measured η0 photoproduction at 4 GeV. We find our results to be consistent with a theoretical preduction relating this cross section to ω0 production by π mesons using a vector-dominance model; there is no evidence for a dip or change of slope at −t=0.6 as seen in π0 photoproduction.

Photoproduction of Single Charged Pions from Deuterium and Hydrogen

Bar-Yam, Z. ; de Pagter, J. ; Hoenig, M.M. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 19 (1967) 40-42, 1967.
Inspire Record 52325 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21751

Differential cross sections for the photoproduction of single charged pions from deuterium and hydrogen have been measured at pion center-of-mass angles between 30° and 90° and at photon energies between 3.0 and 3.7 GeV. The ratio of π− to π+ cross sections from deuterium is found to be appreciably smaller than 1.

MEASUREMENTS OF PI0 PHOTOPRODUCTION CROSS-SECTIONS FOR INCIDENT GAMMA-RAY ENERGIES OF 2.0-Gev/c TO 5.0-Gev/c

Phys.Rev.Lett. 18 (1967) 926, 1967.
Inspire Record 51286 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21770

Cross sections for the reaction γ+p→π0+p for incident gamma-ray energies of 2.0 to 5.0 GeV and for baryon four-momentum transfers squared of 0.5 to 4.0 (GeV/c)2 are presented. The results are compared with theoretical predictions based on Reggeized vector-meson exchange.

PROTON FORM-FACTORS FROM PROTON OBSERVATION

A determination of the electric and magnetic form factors of the proton has been made by studying the elastic scattering of electrons from a polyethylene target by observation of the recoiling proton at 0° and 30° for values of q2 between 1 and 1.8 F−2. From these measurements we have deduced the charge radius Rc and the magnetic radius Rm of the proton and find equality within the experimental errors (Rc=0.800±0.025 F; Rm=0.810±0.029 F).
