From the analysis of 5630 v υ and of 1372 v π charged current interactions, obtained in the BEBC bubble chamber filled with deuterium and exposed to the CERN wide band antineutrino beam, the ratios of cross section on neutron and photon targets have been measured and found to be R  σ ν)/σ v p = 0.51 ± 0.01 (±0.03) , and R  σ( ν n )/σ( v p ) = 22.2 ± 0.12 (±0.25) The dependence of these ratios on the x scaling variable shows, in a direct way, that the momentum distribution of the majority quark, u p ( x ) = d n ( x ), is broader than that of the minority quark, u n ( x ) = d p ( x ).

Dimuon Scaling Comparison at 44-{GeV} and 62-{GeV}

Phys.Rev.Lett. 48 (1982) 302, 1982.
Inspire Record 168182 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20610

Measurements of pp→μ+μ−+X at s=44 and 62 GeV are compared. The data are taken under identical conditions utilizing clean proton-proton collisions from the CERN intersecting storage rings and confirm scaling to 5%. The observed μ+μ− yield is a factor of 1.6±0.2 larger than estimated from a simple parton model but is consistent with QCD. The pT dependence of the muon pairs agrees well with expectations from QCD.

Inclusive $\pi^0$ Production in 250-{GeV}/$c \pi^- p$ Interactions

Phys.Rev.D 25 (1982) 41, 1982.
Inspire Record 11137 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.23973

Neutral-pion production in 250-GeV/c π−p interactions are studied using the Fermilab 15-ft bubble chamber. The mean number of neutral pions produced is 3.54±0.15 per inelastic collision and a fit to a linear dependence on the charged multiplicity gives 〈n0〉=1.30+0.56n−. The π0 transverse- and longitudinal-momentum distributions are obtained from the inclusive γ-ray data and compared with the distribution obtained from those π0's which have both decay γ rays converting in the bubble chamber.

Production of $\pi^0 \pi^0$ and $\pi^0 \eta$ in Photon - Photon Collisions

We investigate the four-photon final state produced in γγ colissions. In the π 0 π 0 channel we observe f(1270) production with predominantly helicity 2 and measure a partial width Γ γγ 2.9 +0.6 −0.4 ± keV (independent of assumptions on the helicity). We observe A 2 (1310) production in the π 0 η channel and find a partial width Γ γγ = 0.77 ± 0.18 ± 0.27 KeV (assuming helicity 2). We give an upper limit for f ≈ ηη .

$\pi^0$ Production by $e^+ e^-$ Annihilation at 14-{GeV} and 34-{GeV} Center-of-mass Energy

Phys.Lett.B 108 (1982) 71-76, 1982.
Inspire Record 168232 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.31018

The process e + e − → π 0 + anything has been measured at c.m. energies of 14 and 34 GeV for π 0 energies between 0.5 and 4 GeV. The ratio of π 0 to π ± production for π momenta between 0.5 and 1.5 GeV/ c is measured to be 2 σ ( π 0 )/ [ σ ( π + ) + σ ( π − )] = 1.3 ± 0.4 (1.2 ± 0.4) at 14 (34) GeV. The scaled cross section ( s / μ )d σ /d x when compared with lower energy (4.9–7.4 GeV) π 0 data indicates a substantial scaling violation.

A Comparison of $\bar{p} p$ and $p p$ Interactions in the Central Region at $\sqrt{s}=53$-{GeV}

Phys.Lett.B 108 (1982) 58-62, 1982.
Inspire Record 168036 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.31012

The inclusive production cross sections of pions, kaons, protons, and antiprotons in p p and pp interactions at √ s =53 GeV are compared in the kinematic range | y | < 0.8 and p T < 1.5 GeV/ c . We observe differences in the K + /K − and p /p ratios for the two data samples. Although the bulk of the particles are produced with the same momentum and rapidity distributions in p p and pp collisions, we observe difference in these distributions for produced protons and antiprotons.

Observation of a Charge Asymmetry in $e^+ e^- \to \mu^+ \mu^-$

The angular distribution and the s dependence of the total cross section for the process e + e − → μ + μ − have been measured using the JADE detector at PETRA. After radiative corrections, a forward-backward asymmetry of −(11.8±3.8) % was observed at an average centre of mass energy of 33.5 GeV. For comparison, an asymmetry of −7.8 % is expected on the basis of the standard Glashow-Salam-Weinberg model.

Hadron Production by e+ e- Annihilation at Center-Of-Mass Energies Between 2.6 GeV and 7.8 GeV: Part 1. Total Cross-Section, Multiplicities and Inclusive Momentum Distributions

Siegrist, J. ; Schwitters, R. ; Alam, M.S. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 26 (1982) 969, 1982.
Inspire Record 169326 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.23889

Measurements of multihadron production in e+e− annihilation at center-of-mass energies between 2.6 and 7.8 GeV are presented. Aside from the narrow resonances ψ(3095) and ψ(3684), the total hadronic cross section is found to be approximately 2.7 times the cross section for the production of muon pairs at c.m. energies below 3.7 GeV and 4.3 times the muon-pair cross section at c.m. energies above 5.5 GeV. Complicated structure is found at intermediate energies. Charged-particle multiplicities and inclusive momentum distributions are presented.

Measurements of $\pi^- p$ Forward Elastic Scattering at High-energies

Burq, J.P. ; Chemarin, M. ; Chevallier, M. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 109 (1982) 111, 1982.
Inspire Record 166767 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.31011

The differential cross section of π − p scattering has been measured in the energy region 100–345 GeV and in the t -range 0.002<| t |< 0.04 (GeV/ c ) 2 . The real part of the π − p scattering amplitude has been extracted from the data. The results show that the real part continues to increase with energy. The energy dependence of the slope parameter has also been determined. The shrinkage found expressed in terms of the slope of the pomeron trajectory is2 α ′ p =0.23±0.04 (GeV/ c ) −2 . This agrees with the energy dependence found at larger| t |-values.
