Inspire Record 99623 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.31896

We present a study of the transverse momentum spectrum of π 0 's produced at c.m. angles θ = 90° and 53° in pp collisions at √ s = 23.6, 30.8, 45.1, 53.2, and 62.9 GeV. The experiment was performed with a lead-glass detector. The data can be described with the usual parametrization p T −n ƒ;(x T , θ) , with n = 7.2 ± 0.2. Comparison between the 90° and 53° data further indicates no appreciable dependence on θ , at least for x T < 0.3. Two-particle inclusive cross sections for π 0 's produced alongside are also presented. They are observed to have a dependence upon the transverse momentum of the dipion similar to that of single-particle cross sections and with the same value of n . Two-photon decays of η mesons are observed between 3 and 4 GeV/ c transverse momentum with a production cross section half of that of π 0 .

Inclusive K*- (890) and anti-K*0 (890) Production in 14.3-GeV/c K- p Interactions

Paler, K. ; Tovey, S.N. ; Shah, T.P. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 96 (1975) 1-28, 1975.
Inspire Record 2239 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.31901

Results on the inclusive reactions K − p → K ∗− (890) + X + and K − p → K ∗0 (890) + X 0 at 14.3 GeV/c are presented. A comparison is made with previous data and with the reaction K − p → K 0 + X at 14.3 GeV /c . Predictions of a triple-Regge model for the variation of the unnatural and natural parity exchanges with the mass of the X system are examined. The experimental values of the structure functions are compared with those calculated from a quark model.

Measurement of Particle and anti-Particle Elastic Scattering on Protons Between 6-GeV and 14-GeV

Brandenburg, G.W. ; Carnegie, R.K. ; Cashmore, R.J. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 58 (1975) 367-370, 1975.
Inspire Record 100639 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.5543

Differential cross sections in the t -range between 0.02 and 1.5 GeV 2 have been measured for the elastic scattering of particles and antiparticles on protons at 6.4, 10.4 and 14 GeV for K ± p and 10.4 GeV for π ± p and p ± p . Large statistics have been achieved and systematic uncertainties have been minimized. The relative systematic uncertainty between particle and antiparticle data is less than 0.5%. Accurate measurements of the position of the first crossover between particle and antiparticle differential cross sections have been performed. As the energy increases from 6.4 to 14 GeV the K ± p crossover moves to smaller values by 0.010 GeV 2 with a statistical error of 0.006 GeV 2 and a systematic uncertainty of 0.005 GeV 2 . The crossover positions at 10.4 GeV for π ± , K ± and p ± scale approximately with the interaction radii.

Production Spectra of pi+-, K+-, rho+- at Large Angles in Proton Proton Collisions in the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings

The British-Scandinavian collaboration Alper, B. ; Böggild, H. ; Booth, P. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 100 (1975) 237-290, 1975.
Inspire Record 99735 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.8506

Results are given on the inclusive production of charged pions, kaons, and nucleons, in proton-proton collisions at c.m. energies from √ s = 23 to 63 GeV at large angles and for the transverse momentum range 0.1 < p T < 4.8 GeV/ c . The dependence of the production spectra on the collision energy √ s , the transverse momentum p T , and the longitudinal rapidity is discussed.

Measurement of the Reactions K- p --> Sigma+ pi- and pi- p --> p pi- Near the Backward Direction at 3.0-GeV/c and 5.1-GeV/c

Hoffman, E.W. ; Dixon, Roger L. ; Fletcher, J.M. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 35 (1975) 138-141, 1975.
Inspire Record 2233 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21176

We have measured differential cross sections for K−p→Σ+π− and π−p→pπ− at 3.0 and 5.1 GeV/c near the backward direction. At 3.0 GeV/c both have a dip near −u∼0.1 (GeV/c)2. At 5.1 GeV/c, dσdu for π−p→pπ− falls exponentially with slope 3.8±0.1 (GeV/c)−2 whereas dudσ for K−p→Σ+π− exhibits a decreasing slope for larger |u|. These data are discussed in terms of SU(3), and the relative importance of the helicity-flip and -non-flip amplitudes is investigated.

Measurement of $\psi$ (3.1) Meson Production by Pions and Protons

Phys.Rev.Lett. 35 (1975) 346, 1975.
Inspire Record 98776 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21147

The production of ψ(3.1) mesons is reported for the reactions π−+Fe→μ++μ−+anything, at 200 GeV, and p+Fe→μ++μ−+anything, at 240 GeV. For ψ production, distributions in x≡PLPbeam and P⊥ are given. For x>~0.5, the ratio of the ψ production cross sections in iron for pions to that for protons is found to be 7.4±2.0.

Differential cross sections have been measured at Fermilab with a focusing spectrometer for π±p, K±p, and p±p elastic scattering at 50-, 70-, 100-, 140-, and 175-GeV/c incident momentum over the |t| range 0.03 to 0.8 GeV2. The results are smooth in t and are parametrized by quadratic exponential fits.

Measurement of the Real Part of the Forward Scattering Amplitude in K+- p Elastic Scattering at 10.4-GeV/c and 14-GeV/c

Phys.Lett.B 59 (1975) 308-312, 1975.
Inspire Record 100638 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.48091

The differential cross section for K ± p elastic scattering has been measured in the very low t region (0.003 < t < 0.2 GeV 2 ) in a wire chamber spectrometer experiment at 10.4 and 14 GeV/ c . The interference effect observed between the Coulomb and the nuclear interaction has been used to determine α, the ratio of real to imaginary part of the forward scattering amplitude. At 10.4 GeV/ c we measure α (K + p) = −0.21 ± 0.06 and α (K − p = 0.08 ± 0.04, and at 14 GeV/ c , α (K + p) = − 0.13 ± 0.03 and α (K − p) = 0.000 ± 0.04 in agreeement with the predictions of dispersion theory calculation.
