Measurement of the Parameters of the $\psi^{\prime\prime}$(3770) Resonance

We present a measurement of the cross section for hadron production by e+e− annihilation in the vicinity of the previously observed resonance near 3.77 GeV. The data are used to determine the parameters of the ψ(3770) resonance. The values found are: mass, 3764±5 MeV/c2, total width, 23.5±5 MeV, and partial width to electron pairs, 276±50 eV.

Observation of $e^+ e^- \to D(s$)+- $D^*(s$)-+ at $\sqrt{s}=4$.14-{GeV}

We present evidence for the exclusive reaction e+e−→Ds±Ds*∓, observed with the Mark III detector at the SLAC storage ring SPEAR. The Ds± is reconstructed in the φπ± decay mode, while the Ds*∓ is detected as a narrow peak in the recoil-mass distribution. The mass of the Ds* is found to be 2109.3±2.1±3.1 MeV/c2, yielding a Ds*−Ds mass difference of 137.9±2.1±4.3 MeV/c2. The width of the Ds* is <22 MeV/c2 at the 90%-confidence level. The observed signal corresponds to σ(e+e−→Ds+Ds*−+Ds−Ds*+)B(Ds+→φπ+)=30±6±11 pb at s=4.14 GeV.

Inclusive Charged $D^*$ Production in $e^+ e^-$ Annihilations at $W=10$.4-{GeV}

A measurement is presented of inclusive charged D*(2010) production from nonresonant e+e− annihilation in the center-of-mass energy (W) range 10.2 GeV<W<10.6 GeV. Charged D* mesons are identified by the decays D*+→D0π+→K−π+π+ and the charge conjugate mode. It is found that 40 ± 7 ± 13% of the charm quarks from the process e+e−→cc¯ result in D* mesons with z>0.7 (z=2EW, where E is the D* energy).
