The results on the differential cross sections as well as the polarizations of $\Lambda$ and $\Sigma^0$ have been obtained for $\bar{K}^0 n$, $\pi^0 \Lambda$, and $\pi^0 \Sigma^0$ production in $K^- p$ interactions at eight $K^-$ momenta between 514 and 750 MeV/$c$. The study is conducted by measuring multiphoton final states with the Crystal Ball spectrometer, using a $K^-$ beam from the Alternating Gradient Synchrotron of BNL. The results improve substantially the existing data, allowing a detailed reexamination of the $\Lambda^*$ and $\Sigma^*$ states in our energy range.

KAON SCATTERING AND CHARGED SIGMA HYPERON PRODUCTION IN K- P INTERACTIONS BELOW 300-MEV/C

Ciborowski, J. ; Gwizdz, J. ; Kielczewska, D. ; et al.
J.Phys.G 8 (1982) 13-32, 1982.
Inspire Record 179889 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.38531

In an experiment on K--proton interactions in a hydrogen bubble chamber, the cross sections and angular distributions have been studied for elastic and charge-exchange scattering, and charged sigma hyperon production in the momentum range 90-300 MeV/c. Good agreement is found with previous cross sections except for the charge-exchange channel where the new values are 60% larger. The production distributions of the charged sigma hyperons and the polarisation of the Sigma + hyperon clearly indicate that P waves are present down to about 150 MeV/c, much lower than previously reported.

SMALL MOMENTUM TRANSFER K- p CHARGE EXCHANGE SCATTERING AT 30-GeV/c

The Serpukhov-Brussels-Annecy(LAPP) collaboration Binon, F. ; Lagnaux, J.P. ; Roosen, R. ; et al.
Nuovo Cim.A 64 (1981) 89-100, 1981.
Inspire Record 164179 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.49654

The\(K^ -p \to \bar K^0 n\) charge exchange differential cross-section has been measured at 30 GeV/c with high statistical accuracy and high angular resolution. The experiment was made at the IHEP 70 GeV accelerator, by using a hodoscope hadron calorimeter to detect KL0. The cross-section shows a dip at small |t|, which indicates a dominance of spin-flip amplitudes in ρ and A2 exchanges in thet-channel.

New High Statistics Data on $K^- p \to$ Two-body Final States Over the Center-of-mass Energy Range 1720-{MeV} to 1796-{MeV}

Nucl.Phys.B 193 (1981) 21-52, 1981.
Inspire Record 156542 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.2930

Data are presented from a high statistics bubble chamber experiment to K − p interactions over the c.m. energy range 1720 to 1796 MeV. Channel cross sections, differential cross sections and, where appropriate, polarisation distributions have been obtained for the final states K − p , K 0 n , π 0 Λ and π ± Σ ∓ . These data are compared with those from previously published experiments and with the predictions from the RL-IC 77 partial-wave amplitudes for each of these channels.

A Comparison of K+- n Charge Exchange Reactions at 8.5-GeV/c and 13-GeV/c

Phys.Rev.Lett. 40 (1978) 6, 1978.
Inspire Record 120363 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20886

The cross sections for the line-reversed reaction pairs K+n→K0p and K−p→K¯0n, and K+p→K0Δ++ and K−n→K¯0Δ− have been determined with high statistics and good relative normalization at 8.36 and 12.8 GeV/c in a spectrometer experiment at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The cross sections for the K+-induced reactions are larger than for the K−, contrary to the expectations of weakly-exchange-degenerate Regge-pole models. The ratio of the reaction cross sections is about the same as at lower energies and shows little change with momentum transfer.

Study of the Reaction K- p --> anti-K0 n at Momenta of 25-GeV/c and 40-GeV/c

The Serpukhov-CERN collaboration Apel, W.D. ; Bertolucci, E. ; Donskov, S.V. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 129 (1977) 275, 1977.
Inspire Record 120460 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.35232

Measurements were made of the differential cross sections for the charge exchange of K − mesons on protons at momenta of 25 and 40 GeV/ c using a high-precision spectrometer with no magnetic field. In the range 5–40 GeV/ c the reaction cross section follows a power-law dependence p K − −1.52 . In the snall momentum transfer region (− t ⪅ m π 2 ) a minimum is observed, similar to that discovered at lower energies. The differential cross sections t = 0 are considerably less than those predicted by the Regge-pole model. The parameters of the effective trajectory are determined.

Total Cross-Section of the Reaction K- p --> anti-K0 n from 515-MeV/c to 1065-MeV/c

Phys.Rev.D 17 (1978) 2216, 1978.
Inspire Record 121139 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.24429

We report the results of a precise measurement of the K−p→K¯0n cross section between 515 and 1065 MeV/c in steps of 10 MeV/c. The statistical errors are less than 1%, a major improvement in accuracy over previous work. We discuss in detail the experimental apparatus and the corrections made to the data. No evidence is found for the new I=1 K¯N resonances at 546 and 602 MeV/c K− momenta reported recently by Carroll et al.

The K- p Charge Exchange and Elastic Scattering Reactions at 4.2-GeV/c

The Amsterdam-CERN-Nijmegen-Oxford collaboration Marzano, F. ; Toet, D.Z. ; Gavillet, P. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 68 (1977) 292, 1977.
Inspire Record 119361 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.48927

In this letter results are presented on the reactions K − p → K 0 n and K − p → K − p from a high statistics CERN 2-metre hydrogen bubble chamber exposure at 4.15 GeV/ c . The behaviour of the differential cross section as a function of four-momentum transfer shows remarkable similarities between the two reactions studied. From a comparison of our data with K + p elastic scattering at 4.27 GeV/ c we draw some conclusions concerning the magnitude of the contributing amplitudes.
