Antinuclei production in heavy ion collisions at CERN SPS.

Nucl.Phys.A 661 (1999) 177-184, 1999.
Inspire Record 514756 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.36135

Besides the dedicated search for strangelets NA52 measures light (anti)particle and (anti)nuclei production over a wide range of rapidity. Compared to previous runs the statistics has been increased in the 1998 run by more than one order of magnitude for negatively charged objects at different spectrometer rigidities. At a rigidity of −20 GeV/ c we measured 10 6 p , 10 3 d and one 3 He without any centrality requirements. These preliminary results together with previous measurements near central rapidity are discussed in the framework of a thermodynamical and a coalescence model.

Inclusive production of omega mesons at large transverse momenta in pi- Be interactions at 515-GeV/c.

FERMILAB-PUB-00-054-E, 2000.
Inspire Record 525948 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.42994

We present results on the production of omega mesons at high transverse momenta in pi^-Be interactions at 515 GeV/c. The data span the kinematic range 3.5 < p_T < 8 GeV/c. We compare the measured cross section with expectations from Monte Carlo QCD generators. The relative yield of omega to pi^0 mesons is used to extract the ratio of vector to pseudoscalar meson production for the first generation of quarks.

Phys.Lett.B 44 (1973) 521-526, 1973.

The inclusive production al all charged particles of transverse momentum p T between 1.5 and 4.4 GeV/ c at centre of mass angles 90° and 59.4° from p-p-collisions with √ s = 44 and 53 GeV has been measured. No strong energy dependence is observed for these transverse momenta.

Strangelet search and antinuclei production studies in Pb + Pb collisions

We searched for long-lived strange quark matter particles, so-called strangelets , and studied particle and antiparticle production in Pb + Pb collisions at 158 GeV/ c per nucleon at zero degree production angle. We give upper limits for the production of strangelets covering a mass to charge ratio up to 120 GeV/ c 2 and lifetimes t lab > 1.2 μ s and plot invariant differential production cross sections as a function of rapidity for a variety of particles.

Inclusive electroproduction of forward protons from neutron and proton targets

Phys.Rev.Lett. 34 (1975) 1115, 1975.
Inspire Record 98990 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21921

We report new measurements of the inclusive electroproduction of forward protons carried out at the Wilson Synchrotron Laboratory at Cornell University. Data were taken with deuterium at the (W, Q2) points (2.15 GeV, 1.2 GeV2), (2.15, 4.0), and (3.11, 1.2); data were taken with hydrogen at these points and at the points (2.15, 2.0), (2.67, 3.3), and (3.11, 1.7). The invariant structure function is presented in terms of W, Q2, and ω.

Composite particle production in relativistic Au + Pt, Si + Pt, and p + Pt collisions

The E886 collaboration Saito, N. ; Bassalleck, B. ; Burger, T. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.C 49 (1994) 3211-3218, 1994.
Inspire Record 383739 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.25998

Recently, highly relativistic Au beams have become available at the Brookhaven National Laboratory, Alternating Gradient Synchrotron. Inclusive production cross sections for composite particles, d, t, He3, and He4, in 11.5A GeV/c Au+Pt collisions have been measured using a beam line spectrometer. For comparison, composite particle production was also measured in Si+Pt and p+Pt collisions at similar beam momenta per nucleon (14.6A GeV/c and 12.9 GeV/c, respectively). The projectile dependence of the production cross section for each composite particle has been fitted to Aprojα. The parameter α can be described by a single function of the mass number and the momentum per nucleon of the produced particle. Additionally, the data are well described by momentum-space coalescence. Comparisons with similar analysis of Bevalac A+A data are made. The coalescence radii extracted from momentum-space coalescence fits are used to determine reaction volumes (‘‘source size’’) within the context of the Sato-Yazaki model.

Deuteron and anti-deuteron production in CERN experiment NA44

The abundances of light nuclei probe the later stages of the evolution of a system formed in a relativistic heavy-ion collision. After the system has cooled and expanded, nucleons in close proximity and moving with small relative momenta coalesce to form nuclei. Light nuclei production enables the study of several topics, including the mechanism of composite particle production, freeze-out temperature, size of the interaction region, and entropy of the system. NA44 is the only relativistic heavy-ion experiment to have both deuteron and antideuteron results in both pA and AA collisions and the first CERN experiment to study the physics topics addressed by d and d production.

Projectile rapidity pions in 775-MeV/nucleon La-139 + C-12 and La-139 + La-139 reactions

Hashimoto, O. ; Hamagaki, H. ; Kobayashi, T. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.C 49 (1994) 420-427, 1994.
Inspire Record 383725 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.25980

Negative pion spectra emitted in the reactions of 775 MeV/nucleon La139+12C and La139+139La reactions have been measured in coincidence with the projectile fragments using the HISS spectrometer at the Bevalac. Prominent peaks near the beam velocity were observed in the pion spectra. Position and widths of the peaks were studied as a function of the ‘‘sum charge’’ of projectile fragments which is a good measure of impact parameter; the smaller the ‘‘sum charge,’’ the smaller the impact parameter. The peak position down shifts with the smaller ‘‘sum charge.’’ The pion peak is wider in the transverse than in the longitudinal direction, possibly mirroring the velocity dispersions of projectile fragments in the early stage of reactions.
