We present measurements of the invariant cross section for the inclusive reaction p+p→p+X in the region 0.14<|t|<0.38 GeV2, 100<s<750 GeV2, and 0.80<x<0.93.
The cross sections are fitted by the formula CONST(C=A)*EXP(SLOPE*T)*(1+CO NST(C=B)/SQRT(S)).
The pp total cross section difference between pure transverse spin states was measured in the laboratory momentum range 1–3 GeV/ c . Significant differences were found and these differences show striking energy dependence. This structure is in disagreement with the predictions of simple exchange models.

REVISED DATA (J. D. LESIKAR, PRIV COMM, 19 JUN 1981). NOW CORRECTED FOR COULOMB-NUCLEAR INTERFERENCE. IN ADDITION, THE LOWEST MOMENTUM DATA POINT IS NOW KNOWN TO BE IN ERROR.
We measured d σ d t(90° cm ) for ↑+ p ↑→ p + p from 1.75 to 5.5 GeV/ c , using the Argonne zero-gradient synchrotron 70% polarized proton beam and a 70% polarized proton target. We found that the spin-spin correlation parameter. A nn , equals 60% at low energy, then drops sharply to about 10% near 3.5 GeV/ c , and remains constant up to 5.5 GeV/ c .
ANALYZING POWER. QUOTED ERRORS DUE TO 4.3 PCT POINT TO POINT RELATIVE ERROR.
THE SPIN-SPIN CORRELATION PARAMETER CNN IS NOW DENOTED BY ANN ACCORDING TO THE NEW ANN ARBOR CONVENTION.
We report on a precision measurement of the neutron spin structure function $g^n_1$ using deep inelastic scattering of polarized electrons by polarized ^3He. For the kinematic range 0.014<x<0.7 and 1 (GeV/c)^2< Q^2< 17 (GeV/c)^2, we obtain $\int^{0.7}_{0.014} g^n_1(x)dx = -0.036 \pm 0.004 (stat) \pm 0.005 (syst)$ at an average $Q^2=5 (GeV/c)^2$. We find relatively large negative values for $g^n_1$ at low $x$. The results call into question the usual Regge theory method for extrapolating to x=0 to find the full neutron integral $\int^1_0 g^n_1(x)dx$, needed for testing quark-parton model and QCD sum rules.

We measured the cross section for proton-proton elastic scattering at 11.75 GeV/c using the Zero Gradient Synchrotron 52% polarized proton beam and a 60% polarized proton target. We measured dσdt(ij) in the ↑↑, ↓↓, and ↑↓ initial spin states perpendicular to the scattering plane in the range P⊥2=2.0−3.6 (GeV/c)2. We found that the asymmetry parameter A decreases smoothly with increasing P⊥2 in this range, and that the spin-spin correlation parameter Cnn may have a minimum near P⊥2=3 (GeV/c)2.

Differential cross sections for p−p elastic scattering are presented with scattering angles in the center-of-mass system greater than 35° to 50°. The data were obtained at incident laboratory momenta 0.857, 1.091, 1.210, 1.374, 1.405, and 1.501 GeV/c. This spans the region of the onset of Δ(1236) production and where a possible spin-singlet D-wave resonance is indicated in an analysis of earlier data.

We report here the results from an experiment to obtain differential cross sections for K−p elastic scattering in the laboratory momentum region from 1.4 to 1.9 GeV/c. These data span the region of a bump in the K−p total cross section at an energy of 2.05 GeV. Approximately 20000 elastic events were obtained at each of four momenta with an angular coverage of 0.9≥cosθc.m.≥−0.9. The data are intended to aid in phase-shift analyses of the resonances causing the bump in the total cross section and to study dip structures at constant values of the Mandelstam variables t and u.

The strong coupling alpha_s(M_Z^2) has been measured using hadronic decays of Z^0 bosons collected by the SLD experiment at SLAC. The data were compared with QCD predictions both at fixed order, O(alpha_s^2), and including resummed analytic formulae based on the next-to-leading logarithm approximation. In this comprehensive analysis we studied event shapes, jet rates, particle correlations, and angular energy flow, and checked the consistency between alpha_s(M_Z^2) values extracted from these different measures. Combining all results we obtain alpha_s(M_Z^2) = 0.1200 \pm 0.0025(exp.) \pm 0.0078(theor.), where the dominant uncertainty is from uncalculated higher order contributions.
Final average value of alpha_s. The second (DSYS) error is from the uncertainty on the theoretical part of the calculation.

The strong coupling constant, αs, has been determined in hadronic decays of theZ0 resonance, using measurements of seven observables relating to global event shapes, energy correlatio
