Results of the total cross section differenceΔσL in anp transmission experiment at 1.19, 2.49 and 3.65 GeV incident neutron beam kinetic energies are presented. Measurements were performed at the Synchrophasotron of the Laboratory of High Energies of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna. Results were obtained with a polarized beam of free quasi-monochromatic neutrons passing through the new Dubna frozen spin proton target. The beam and target polarizations were oriented longitudinally. The present results were obtained at the highest energies of free polarized neutrons that can be reached at present. They extend the energy range of existing results from PSI, LAMPF and Saclay measured between 0.066 and 1.10 GeV. The new results are compared withΔσL(pn) data determined as a difference betweenΔσL(pd) andΔσL(pp) ANL-ZGS measurements. The values ofΔσL for the isospin stateI=0 were deduced using knownpp data.
Errors contain statistical and systematic errors added in quadrature. Axis error includes +- 0.05/0.05 contribution (An additional error due to the extrapolation towards zero solid angle).

We present the first measurements of femtoscopic correlations between the K$^0_{\rm S}$ and K$^{\rm \pm}$ particles in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV measured by the ALICE experiment. The observed femtoscopic correlations are consistent with final-state interactions proceeding solely via the $a_0(980)$ resonance. The extracted kaon source radius and correlation strength parameters for K$^0_{\rm S}$K$^{\rm -}$ are found to be equal within the experimental uncertainties to those for K$^0_{\rm S}$K$^{\rm +}$. Results of the present study are compared with those from identical-kaon femtoscopic studies also performed with pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV by ALICE and with a K$^0_{\rm S}$K$^{\rm \pm}$ measurement in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=2.76$ TeV. Combined with the Pb-Pb results, our pp analysis is found to be compatible with the interpretation of the $a_0(980)$ having a tetraquark structure instead of that of a diquark.

A total of 22 muon-neutrino-electron elastic-scattering events (νμe→νμe) have been observed in an exposure of the Fermilab 15-foot bubble chamber filled with a heavy neon-hydrogen mixture to a wide-band neutrino beam. The elastic-scattering cross section is measured to be 1.67±0.44×10−42Eν cm2 GeV−1. The value of the weak mixing angle (sin2θW) determined from this cross section, which is consistent with other measurements of this angle, is 0.20−0.05+0.06.

Both the np and the pp analyzing powers were measured simultaneously using the SATURNE II polarized deuteron beam at 0.550, 0.725, 0.900 and 1.15 GeV/nucleon. The results for the pp analyzing power coincide with the free pp elastic scattering data. We thus can assume that also the np analyzing power is equal to the one for scattering of free polarized neutrons. The np data cover the angular region 90° ≤ θ CM ≤ 125°. Our results for the np analyzing power clarify a discrepancy between earlier data at 0.5 GeV and allow conclusions about the energy dependence of the minimum of polarization at θ CM ⋍ 100° in the region from 0.5 to 0.9 GeV.

The Λ-proton elastic scattering cross section has been measured between 1 and 17 GeV/c in a bubble chamber experiment. These are the first measurements of the elastic cross section for pΛ>5 GeV/c. The Λ's were produced by 25-GeV/c proton interactions in a platinum target. The cross section falls from 22 to 4 mb over the region. No significant polarization is observed.

In quantum scattering processes between two particles, aspects characterizing the strong and Coulomb forces can be observed in kinematic distributions of the particle pairs. The sensitivity to the interaction potential reaches a maximum at low relative momentum and vanishing distance between the two particles. Ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions at the LHC provide an abundant source of many hadron species and can be employed as a measurement method of scattering parameters that is complementary to scattering experiments. This study confirms that momentum correlations of particles produced in Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC provide an accurate measurement of kaon-proton scattering parameters at low relative momentum, allowing precise access to the $ {K}^{-} p\rightarrow {K}^{-} p$ process. This work also validates the femtoscopic measurement in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions as an alternative to scattering experiments and a complementary tool to the study of exotic atoms with comparable precision. In this work, the first femtoscopic measurement of momentum correlations of ${K}^{-} p\ ({K}^{+}\overline{p})$ and ${K}^{+}p ({K}^{-}\overline{p})$ pairs in Pb-Pb collisions at centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV registered by the ALICE experiment is reported. The components of the ${K}^{-} p$ complex scattering length are extracted and found to be $\Re f_0=-0.91\pm~{0.03}$(stat)$^{+0.17}_{-0.03}$(syst) and $\Im f_0 = 0.92\pm~{0.05}$(stat)$^{+0.12}_{-0.33}$(syst). The results are compared with chiral effective field theory predictions as well as with existing data from dedicated scattering and exotic kaonic atom experiments.
The differential cross sections for neutron-proton elastic charge-exchange scattering have been measured with a two-arm technique for incident neutron momenta between 22 and 65 GeV/ c and for values of the momentum transfer squared between 0.002 and 0.8 (GeV/ c ) 2 . The sharp forward peak observed previously at lower energies is also present at momenta up to 65 GeV/ c ; however the s dependence of the cross section is slowing down.

Final results for total cross section differences Δσ T and Δσ L measured with a polarized neutron beam transmitted through a polarized proton target are presented. Measurements were carried out at SATURNE II, at 11 energies between 0.63 and 1.1 GeV for Δσ T and at 9 energies between 0.312 and 1.1 GeV for Δσ L . The results are compared with measurements at PSI and LAMPF as well as with Δσ L data points deduced from p-d and p-p transmission experiments at the ANL-ZGS. The present results together with the corresponding pp data allow to determine two of the three imaginary parts of forward scattering amplitudes for isospin I = 0.
