We present final measurements of the Z boson-lepton coupling asymmetry parameters Ae, Amu, and Atau with the complete sample of polarized Z bosons collected by the SLD detector at the SLAC Linear Collider. From the left-right production and decay polar angle asymmetries in leptonic Z decays we measure Ae = 0.1544 +- 0.0060, Amu = 0.142 +- 0.015, and Atau = 0.136 +- 0.015. Combined with our left-right asymmetry measured from hadronic decays, we find Ae = 0.1516 +- 0.0021. Assuming lepton universality, we obtain a combined effective weak mixing angle of sin**2 theta^{eff}_W = 0.23098 +- 0.00026.

Improved measurements of cross-sections and asymmetries at the Z0 resonance

The DELPHI collaboration Abreu, P. ; Adam, W. ; Adye, T. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 418 (1994) 403-427, 1994.
Inspire Record 373114 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.48349

During the 1992 running period of the LEP e + e − collider, the DELPHI experiment accumulated approximately 24 pb − of data at the Z 0 peak. The decays into hadrons and charged leptons have been analysed to give values for the cross sections and leptonic forward-backward asymmetries which are significantly improved with respect to those previously published by the DELPHI collaboration. Incorporating these new data, more precise values for the Z 0 resonance parameters are obtained from model-independent fits. The results are interpreted within the framework of the Standard Model, yielding for the top quark mass m t = 157 −48 +36 (expt.) −20 +19 (Higgs) GeV, and for the effective mixing angle sin 2 θ eff lept = 0.2328 ± 0.0013 (expt.) −0.0003 +0.0001 (Higgs), where (Higgs) represents the variation due to Higgs boson mass in the range 60 to 1000 GeV, with central value 300 GeV.

Tests of the standard model and constraints on new physics from measurements of fermion pair production at 183-GeV at LEP

The OPAL collaboration Abbiendi, G. ; Ackerstaff, K. ; Alexander, G. ; et al.
Eur.Phys.J.C 6 (1999) 1-18, 1999.
Inspire Record 473699 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.49337

Cross-sections for hadronic, b-bbar and lepton pair final states in e+e- collisions at sqrt(s) = 183 GeV, measured with the OPAL detector at LEP, are presented and compared with the predictions of the Standard Model. Forward-backward asymmetries for the leptonic final states have also been measured. Cross-sections and asymmetries are also presented for data recorded in 1997 at sqrt(s) = 130 and 136 GeV. The results are used to measure the energy dependence of the electromagnetic coupling constant alpha_em, and to place limits on new physics as described by four-fermion contact interactions or by the exchange of a new heavy particle such as a leptoquark, or of a squark or sneutrino in supersymmetric theories with R-parity violation.

Phys.Lett.B 94 (1980) 259-265, 1980.
Inspire Record 153127 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.45228

We have measured the reactions e + e − → e + e − → μ + μ − and e + e − → γγ at c.m. energies between 12 and 31.6 GeV. Excellent agreement with the predictions of QED has been found, resulting in cut off parameters Λ + > 112 GeV and Λ − > 139 GeV for the first process and Λ + > 34 GeV and Λ − > 42 GeV (95% c.1.) for the last one. A limit on the Weinberg angle of sin 2 θ W < 0.55 (95% c.1.) has been obtained.

First physical results from SND detector at VEPP-2M.

The paper describes experiments with the SND detector at VEPP-2M collider, carried out during the period from October 1995 until June 1997. The total integrated luminosity of 6.4 pb^{-1} was collected in the energy range 2E=0.4-1.4 GeV (MHAD97 experiment), corresponding to 4*10^5 mu^+ mu^- pairs produced. Preliminary results of the 1996 phi-meson experiment (FI96) are presented. The total number of phi-mesons produced is 4*10^6. New data on rare decays of phi and eta (550) mesons, in particular B(phi -> eta gamma) = (1.30+-0.06+-0.07)%, B(phi -> pi^0 pi^0 gamma) = (1.1+-0.2)*10^{-4}, (M_{pi^0 pi^0} > 800 MeV), B(phi -> f^0 gamma) = (4.7+-1.0)*10^{-4}, B(phi -> eta pi^0 gamma) = (1.3+-0.5)*10^{-4}, B(phi -> eta' gamma) < 1.7*10^{-4}, B(phi -> 2 pi^0 ) < 6*10^{-4} were obtained.

Measurement of the Reactions $e^+ e^- \to \mu^+ \mu^-$ and $e^+ e^- \to \tau^+ \tau^-$ Between $\sqrt{s}=50$-{GeV} and 60.8-{GeV}

The angular distributions of the reactione+e−→μ+μ− ande+e+→τ+τ− have been measured between\(\sqrt s= 50\) and 60.8 GeV with the VENUS detector at TRISTAN. The average total cross section and the forward-backward charge asymmetry for μ-pair production are observed to be 28.3±1.4±0.8 pb and (−29.0−4.8+5.0±0.5)%, and those for τ-pair production are 27.6±1.7±1.0 pb and (−32.8−6.2+6.4±1.5)% at\(\langle \sqrt s \rangle \). These values are consistent with the predictions of the standard model of electroweak interactions.

Search for a narrow resonance in e+ e- collisions between E(cm) = 58-GeV and 60-GeV

We carried out the energy scan between E CM = 58 and 60 GeV at the TRISTAN e + e − collider to search for the possible narrow resonance suggested by the L3 experiment at LEP. The total cross sections are measured for γγ, multihadron, e + e − and μ + μ − production at ten energy points covering this energy range almost uniformly. The results are in good agreement with the Standard Model predictions, and 95% confidence level upper limits are set to Γ ee × BR of the hypothetical scalar and tensor resonances.
