K − p reactions have been studied at 13 different incident momenta between 1138 and 1434 MeV/ c . This interval corresponds to a mass of the K − p system varying from 1858 to 1993 MeV. About 300 000 photographs were taken in the 81 cm Saclay hydrogen bubble chamber exposed to a separated K − beam at the CERN proton-synchrotron. A total of about 44 000 events were analyzed, from which partial and differential cross sections were determined. Polarizations were obtained for the two-body reactions where the decay of the Λ or Σ hyperon allowed their measurement. Data for the two-body channels are presented here as well as for the main quasi-two-body reactions.

Partial Wave Analysis of $K^- p \to \pi^\mp \Sigma^\pm$ (1385) Between 1775-{MeV} and 2170-{MeV} Including New Data Below 1960-{MeV}

Nucl.Phys.B 143 (1978) 189, 1978.
Inspire Record 129718 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.8284

New data are presented for the reaction K − p → Λπ + π − at 11 energies between 1775 and 1957 MeV in the centre-of-mass. New values for the masses and widths of the Σ ± (1385) are given. The differential cross sections and the complete spin density matrices for the reactions K − p → π ± Σ ∓ (1385) were extracted from these data using also the information from the Λ decay. An energy-dependent partial-wave analysis has been carried out over the c.m. range 1775–2170 MeV also using data from an earlier experiment. Comparisons between the observed resonant amplitudes and SU(3) and SU(6) W ⊎ O(3) predictions have been made.

Z.Phys.C 23 (1984) 213, 1984.
Inspire Record 199642 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.16327

The reactionsK−p→π∓Σ(1385)± are studied at an incident laboratory momentum of 8.25 GeV/c using data from a high statistics (≃180 events/μb) bubble chamber experiment. In the case of the reactionK−p→π−Σ(1385)+ an amplitude analysis is performed and the complete Σ(1385)+ spin density matrix is extracted as a function oft′. The results are compared with the predictions of the additive quark model. In the case of the reactionK−p→π+Σ(1385)− the cross-sections for forward and backward production are determined.

The K − p reactions leading to charge exchange and hyperon final states have been studied at nine momenta between 862 and 1001 MeV/ c using data from a 600 000 picture exposure of the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory 25″ liquid hydrogen bubble chamber. Partial cross sections are determined for all final states resolved by kinematic fitting. In addition, differential cross sections are presented for the two-body final states K o n , Λπ o and Σ +- π -+ along with hyperon polarization angular distributions for Λπ o and Σ + π − .

Nucl.Phys.B 115 (1976) 82-113, 1976.

We present results of a K − d experiment performed with the 81 cm Saclay deuterium bubble chamber which was exposed to a K − beam at 4 momenta between 680 and 840 MeV/ c at the CERN PS. Cross sections were measured for inelastic two- and three-body K − n reactions on the basis of 5200 events/mb. Resonance production in the three-body reactions is discussed. In addition, differential cross sections and polarisations are presented for inelastic two-body reactions.

The validity of the spectator model for the analysisof KN interactions in deuterium is discussed. Cross sections are determined for the reactions K − p → Σ − π + , K − p → Σ + π − and K − p → Λπ + π − and are compared to those obtain ed on free protons.

Some Three-Body Final States in K- p Reactions at 14.3-GeV/c

Wohl, C.G. ; Barloutaud, R. ; Borg, A. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 132 (1978) 401-428, 1978.
Inspire Record 5385 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.35160

We present experimental results on a number of K − p reactions at 14.3 GeV/ c that have three bodies in the final state. The final states are K − ω p , K − π p , Λπ + π − , Λ K + K − , Λp p , K ∗ − ω p , Λ(1520) K + K − and Λ(1520) p p . Whenever, with one exception explained by the Zweig rule, there is a K − or a proton in the final state, there is a diffractive-like threshold enhancement in the mass spectrum of the two recoiling particles. These enhancements account for a large fraction of the events in all but the Λπ + π − final state, where they cannot occur, and which is dominated by resonance production. We find evidence for the Q 1 (1300) decaying into K − ω .

Production of Sigma (1660) in K- p Interactions at 4.2-GeV/c

The Amsterdam-CERN-Nijmegen-Oxford collaboration Timmermans, Jan ; Engelen, J.J. ; Heinen, P.M. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 112 (1976) 77-106, 1976.
Inspire Record 108671 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.35709

The reaction of K − p → Σ + (1660) π − was studied in a 65 event/μb sample of Σππ(π), Λππ(π) and p K 0 π − final states. The main production features observed are that the Σ (1660) decaying into Σππ is mostly Λ (1405) π and is produced only at small t ; the Σ (1660) decaying into Σπ shows both forward and backward production. This confirms earlier results suggesting the existence of two Σ (1660) resonances. An Adair analysis and a (model-dependent) moments analysis find a J = 3 2 preference for the Σ + (1660)→ Λ (1405) π + → Σ + π − π + ; a Dalitz-Miller analysis of the decay Σ + (1660) → Λ (1405) π + → Σ − π + π + determines J P to be 3 2 − . For the Σ + (1660) → Σ 0 π + a moments analysis suggests J = 3 2 . Branching ratios are determined, which (with the exceptation of the Λ (1405) π mode) are in reasonable agreement with results from formation experiments for the J P = 3 2 − Σ(1660) resonance. We compare our branching ratios with SU(3) and SU(6) predictions; the latter comparison suggests that, unless there is strong configuration mixing, Σ (1660) → Λ (1405) π , if 3 2 − , cannot be a member of the (70, 1 − ) multiplet.
