Λ∘ polarization in inclusive production by protons on iridium has been measured at 28.5 GeV/c over the region 0.55 GeV/c<~P⊥<~1.6 GeV/c. The polarization rises from (-12.6±5.5)% at 0.55 GeV/c to (-33.4±4.6)% at 1.6 GeV/c. Significant differences from previous measurements at other energies with different targets are observed, particularly at low P⊥.

PHOTOPRODUCTION OF eta MESONS AT 9.7-GeV

Inclusive η photoproduction has been studied at 9.7 GeV, on hydrogen and deuterium targets. A simple, parameter-free ρ0-dominance model adequately fits the forward cross sections, but overestimates the cross section at large momentum transfer.

Transverse Momentum Spectra for Charged Particles at the CERN Proton anti-Proton Collider

Phys.Lett.B 118 (1982) 167-172, 1982.
Inspire Record 179520 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30855

We have measured transverse momentum spectra up to 10 GeV/ c for charged particles produced centrally in proton-antiproton collisions at 540 GeV in the centre of mass at the CERN collider. Our results are compared with data at ISR energies and with the predictions of a QCD model. The charged particle spectrum shows a clear dependence on charged track multiplicity.

Further Evidence for Charged Intermediate Vector Bosons at the SPS Collider

The UA1 collaboration Arnison, G. ; Astbury, A. ; Aubert, Bernard ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 129 (1983) 273-282, 1983.
Inspire Record 191741 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30659

A sample of 52 Intermediate Vector Boson decays in the ( v e e) channel is described. They were produced at the CERN SPS Collider for an integrated luminosity of 0.136 pb −1 . Both production and decay properties fit well with expectations from the Standard Model of weak interactions. An improved value for the W mass is given and compared with the previously published value for the Z 0 mass.

Observation of Jets in High Transverse Energy Events at the CERN Proton - anti-Proton Collider

Phys.Lett.B 123 (1983) 115-122, 1983.
Inspire Record 188735 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30754

With a segmented total absorption calorimeter of large acceptance, we have measured the total transverse energy spectrum for pp̄ collisions at s 1 2 = 540 GeV up to ΣE T = 130 GeV in the pseudo-rapidity range | η |< 1.5. Using two different algorithms, we have looked for localized depositions of transverse energy (jets). For ΣE T > 40 GeV , the fraction of events with two jets increases with Σ E T ; this event structure is dominant for ΣE T > 100 GeV. We measure the inclusive jet cross section up to E T (jet) = 60 GeV and the two-jets mass distribution to 120 GeV/ c 2 . The measured cross sections are compatible with the predictions of hard scattering models based on QCD.

Comparison of Three Jet and Two Jet Cross-Sections in p anti-p Collisions at the CERN SPS p anti-p Collider

Phys.Lett.B 158 (1985) 494, 1985.
Inspire Record 214736 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30390

Results are presented on two-jet and three-jet cross sections, measured in the UA1 experiment at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) pp̄ Collider, at the highest available subprocess cms energies ( s ̂ >150 GeV ). Precise measurements of the two-jet angular distribution are consistent with previous results but show significant scale-breaking effects. The three-jet Dalitz plot and the three-jet angular distributions show evidence for final- and initial-state bremsstrahlung processes, in agreement with the leading-order QCD predictions. A comparison of the yield of wide-angle three-jet events with the yield of two-jet events at smaller scattering angles gives for the strong interaction coupling constant: α s ( K 3J K 2J )=0.16±0.02±0.03 at Q 2 ≈4000 GeV 2 , where the factor K 3J K 2J may plausibly be assumed to be close to unity.

Inclusive Production of Low-Momentum Charged Pions at x=0 at the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings

The British-Scandinavian-MIT collaboration Guettler, K. ; Duff, B.G. ; Prentice, M.N. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 64 (1976) 111-116, 1976.
Inspire Record 109344 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.5511

Results are reported for the invariant differential cross-section of charged pions produced at x = 0 in proton-proton collisions at the CERN ISR. The range covered is 40 to 400 MeV/c in transverse momentum and 23 to 63 GeV in collision energy. The inclusive cross-section for π + and π − are increasing by 36 ± 2% and 41 ± 2%, respectively over the ISR energy range with a somewhat stronger increase at the lowest transverse momenta. The transverse momentum distribution is well described by an exponential in the transverse energy.

Inspire Record 108611 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.9273

We present the inclusive and semi-inclusive production of protons, π+, π−, for the full range of kinematic variables, from 7850 inelastic interactions obtained in the 4.7 m liquid-hydrogen bubble chamber Mirabelle at the Serpukhov accelerator and with an incident proton beam of 69 GeV/c. We compare the data with those at other energies, and we give the results of different phenomenological fits.

A Precise measurement of the average b hadron lifetime

The ALEPH collaboration Buskulic, D. ; Casper, D. ; De Bonis, I. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 369 (1996) 151-162, 1996.
Inspire Record 401554 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.52363

An improved measurement of the average b hadron lifetime is performed using a sample of 1.5 million hadronic Z decays, collected during the 1991–1993 runs of ALEPH, with the silicon vertex detector fully operational. This uses the three-dimensional impact parameter distribution of lepton tracks coming from semileptonic b decays and yields an average b hadron lifetime of 1.533 ± 0.013 ± 0.022 ps.
