The angular distribution of 2720 tracks of 1085 hadronic final states produced from (e+e-) annihilation has been studied in the 1.2 to 3.0 GeV total centre-of-mass energy range. If we parametrize the angular distribution in terms off(θ) =1 + A cos2 θ, where 6 is the angle between the hadronic track produced and the colliding-beam direction, the results show thatA is less than 0.21, with 90% confidence.
ANGULAR DISTRIBUTION OF CHARGED HADRONS FOUND TO BE 1 + (0.07 +- 0.11)*(COS(THETA)**2).
We have observed an azimuthal asymmetry in inclusive hadron production by e+e− annihilation at the center-of-mass energy s=7.4 GeV. The asymmetry is caused by the polarization of the circulating beams in the storage ring and allows separate determination of the transverse and longitudinal structure functions. We find that transverse production dominates for x>0.2 where x is the scaling variable 2ps.

K L 0 p interactions were studied in the CERN 2m H 2 bubble chamber in the c.m. energy range 1490–1700 MeV. The experimental details are described. Results are presented on the final states Λπ + , Σ 0 π + and Λπ + π 0 . The effect of these data on a recent partial-wave analysis of the two-body states is examined.

KL --> 3PI USED TO MEASURE ABSOLUTE CROSS SECTIONS AT 530 MEV/C.
The analysis of A2−→ηπ− at 11.2 GeV/c confirms that A2− is essentially produced by natural-parity exchange. In the differential cross-section as a function oft′ there is evidence of the dip at smallt′ values. The branching ratio (A2→ηπ)/(A2→ϱπ) is 0.18±0.05.

The ωπ − mass spectrum, in the reaction π −p → ωπ − pat 11.2 GeV/ c , shows the production of the B − meson with a cross section of 27 ± 5 μb as well as a clear enhancement around 1670 MeV. In the differential cross section for B − production, there is a strong forward peak and a change of slope at t ' t 0.2 GeV 2 .

The reaction K − n → K − π + π − n has been studied in the SLAC 82″ liquid deuterium bubble chamber with a beam momentum of 12 GeV/ c . Although the kinematic fit for this final state has only one constraint, nonetheless a reasonably pure sample has been obtained. The cross section for the reaction is 1.02 ± 0.10 mb. The process K − n → K ∗0 890 Δ − is observed with cross section 36 ± 9 μ b and t -slope of 10 ± 2 (GeV/ c ) −2 . A kaon diffraction dissociation sample has been obtained, although the Q-signal is not so strong as in experiments with proton targets. Neutron dissociation into n π + π − is also observed with similar properties to those of proton dissociation into p π + π − , but with a broader t -distribution.

A sample of about 230000 events of the reaction pi /sup -/p to pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/n, measured with a magnetic forward spectrometer set up in an unseparated pi /sup -/ beam with a momentum of 63 GeV/c at the SPS has been analysed in terms of one pion exchange. The elastic pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ cross section has been determined using an extrapolation to the pion pole in the mass range up to m( pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/)=4 GeV. The total pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ cross section is obtained via the optical theorem. (7 refs).

We present results on a number of non-diffractive two-body channels contributing to reactions K + p→K 0 π + p and K + p→K + π − π + p. The data come from an exposure of the Mirabelle bubble chamber to an r.f. separated K + beam of 32 GeV/ c at the Serpukhov accelerator. Total cross sections are given for the final states K ∗+ (890) p , K ∗+ (1420) p , K 0 Δ ++ (1232), K ∗+ (890) p , Δ ++ (1232), K ∗0 (1420) Δ ++ (1232), K ∗0 (1780) Δ ++ (1232) and K ∗0 (890) Δ ++ (1950) . The differential cross sections are given for all channels with sufficient statistics. The energy dependence of the total and differential cross sections is studied.

The A 2 meson is studied in the decay mode ϱ 0 π − using partial wave analyses of 600 000 events from the reaction π − p→ π − π − π + p at 63 and 94 GeV incident momentum. Common production mechanisms are indicated for this resonance and diffractive 1 + and 2 − components.
