We have measured, at an average centre-of-mass energy of 34.22 GeV a forward-backward charge asymmetry in the reaction e + e − → μ + μ − of value −0.161 ± 0.032. This demonstrates the existence of an axial vector neutral current with coupling strength of g e a g μ a =0.53 ± 0.10. We have also obtained a limit on the vector coupling strength of g e v g μ v <0.12. The Weinberg angle is found to be sin 2 θ W =0.29 +0.09 −0.11 . From the reaction e + e − → τ + τ − we have found g e a g τ a <0.34, g e v g τ v <0.55.

NEUTRINO FLUX AND TOTAL CHARGED CURRENT CROSS-SECTIONS IN HIGH-ENERGY NEUTRINO DEUTERIUM INTERACTIONS

Kitagaki, T. ; Tanaka, S. ; Yuta, H. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 49 (1982) 98-101, 1982.
Inspire Record 182030 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20571

From 12000 charged-current νμ D events obtained in an exposure of the Fermilab 15-ft bubble chamber to a high-energy wide-band neutrino beam, the absolute neutrino flux is determined using the reaction νμn→μ−p. For the total charged-current cross section, σt=kEν, k=(0.68±0.04±0.10)×10−38 cm2/GeV is obtained for Eν between 10 and 200 GeV. No clear energy dependence of the slope parameter k is observed.

Neutral Current $\nu_\mu \eta$ and $\nu_\mu \rho$ Cross-sections from High-energy Neutrino Interactions in Deuterium

Kafka, T. ; Mann, W.A. ; Sommars, S. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 48 (1982) 910-914, 1982.
Inspire Record 180620 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20576

In an exposure of the deuterium-filled 15 ft bubble chamber, σ(νμn→νμX)σ(νμp→νμX) is measured to be 1.01±0.14. The ratios of neutral-current to charged-current cross sections are 0.30±0.03, 0.22±0.03, and 0.49±0.06 for D2, n, and p targets, respectively, which imply values uL2=0.19±0.06 and dL2=0.13±0.04 for the neutral-current chiral couplings. Evidence for both u- and d-quark jets in neutral-current reactions is observed in distributions of energy fraction of the fastest hadron of either charge from each event.

NEW DECAY MODE OF THE CHARMED BARYON, LAMBDA(C)+ ---> SIGMA0 PI+

Kitagaki, T. ; Tanaka, S. ; Yuta, H. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 48 (1982) 299-301, 1982.
Inspire Record 177920 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20615

In a sample of approximately 17500 charged-current neutrino-deuterium interactions from an exposure of the Fermilab 15-ft bubble chamber to a high-energy wide-band neutrino beam, the charmed baryon Λc+ is observed in a new decay mode, Λc+→Σ0π+. The product of branching ratio and production rate is estimated to be (3.2±2.1)×10−3 for this Σ0π+ channel.

MEASUREMENT OF DIFFERENTIAL CROSS-SECTION FOR GAMMA D ---> P N BY MONOCHROMATIC PHOTONS IN THE ENERGY RANGE OF DIBARYON RESONANCES

Baba, K. ; Endo, I. ; Fukuma, H. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 48 (1982) 729-731, 1982.
Inspire Record 180617 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20596

The differential cross section for γd→pn has been measured in the energy range between 180 and 600 MeV at c.m. angles 15°, 30°, 42°, and 72°, by using tagged photons. The results, in particular at smaller angles, are in disagreement with theoretical calculations which take into account the effect of dibaryon resonances.

RADIATIVE WIDTH OF THE K*+ (1430).

Phys.Lett.B 117 (1982) 123-125, 1982.
Inspire Record 184277 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30878

Using the Primakoff formalism, we have extracted the radiative decay width of the K ∗+ (1430) produced in coherent interactions of 200 GeV/ c K + mesons in nuclear targets. The width obtained is 240 ± 45 keV, a value reasonably consistent with quark-model predictions.

Measurement of Hadronic Production of the $\chi$ 1++ (3507) and the $\chi$ 2++ (3553) Through Their Radiative Decay to $J/\psi$

Lemoigne, Y. ; Barate, R. ; Bareyre, P. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 113 (1982) 509, 1982.
Inspire Record 176731 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30918

The χ 1 ++ (3507) and the χ 2 ++ (3553) states have been observed in the Goliath spectrometer at the CERN SPS in 185 GeV/ c π − -Be collisions. Their radiative decays contribute 27.7% (for the χ 1 ++ ) and 12.8% (for the χ 2 ++ ) to J ϕ production. At this energy, their cross sections are 65±19 nb and 96±29 nb, respectively

Phys.Lett.B 113 (1982) 190-194, 1982.
Inspire Record 177090 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30958

The reaction e + e - → e + e - η' has been observed in the JADE experiment at PETRA, by detecting the final state π + π - γ, resulting from the decay η' → γϱ 0 . The cross section was measured at an average beam energy of 17.15 GeV to be σ(e + e - → e + e - η') = 2.2 ± 0.2 (stat.) ± 0.4(syst.) nb, yielding the radiative width Γ η'γγ = 5.0 ± 0.5(stat.) ± 0.9 (syst.) keV.

Measurement of Polarized Target Asymmetry in $\gamma d \to p n$ in the Photon Energy Region Between 0.3-{GeV} and 0.7-{GeV}

Ohashi, Y. ; Awaji, N. ; Hayashii, H. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 110 (1982) 441-444, 1982.
Inspire Record 176585 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30974

The target asymmetry in γ d → pn has been measured at proton c.m. angles of 70°, 100° and 130° in the photon energies between 0.3 and 0.7 GeV. Results show relatively small asymmetry values in contrast to large proton polarizations. A phenomenological analysis by Ikeda et al. does not reproduce the present data, especially in the lower energy region.
