The non-strange four-prong events of π + p interactions at 3.5 GeV/ c are studied. Cross sections are calculated for all resonance productions in the channels π + p → p π + π + π − ( σ T = 3.18 ± 0.13 mb) and π + p → p π + π + π − π o ( σ T = 4.03 ± 0.16 mb). The dominant two body reactions Δ ++ ϱ o and Δ ++ ω o are investigated in detail, and production and decay distributions are presented as well as joint decay density matrix elements and joint correlation terms. The Δ ++ ϱ o reaction is compared to predictions of OPE with absorption and the Δ ++ ω o is compared to rho-exchange with sharp cutoff.

Reaction pi+ p ---> rho+ p at 2.67 gev/c - a study of isoscalar exchanges

Michael, W. ; Gidal, G. ;
Phys.Rev.Lett. 28 (1972) 1475-1479, 1972.
Inspire Record 75483 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21443

Results are presented of a study of the reaction π+p→ρ+p at 2.67 GeV/c incident π+ momentum. The contributions due to given spin-parity exchanges are isolated; and, by combining these results with those of a similar π− experiment, the It=0 component of each series is separated. The ω (I=0, JPG=1−−) exchange contribution shows a pronounced dip at −t=0.4 (GeV/c)2. Evidence is presented for the exchange of a state of minimum quantum numbers, H (I=0, JPG=1+−).

Study of k*0(892) delta++(1236) production from k+ p interactions at 3 gev/c

Buchner, K. ; Dehm, G. ; Goebel, G. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 29 (1971) 381-397, 1971.
Inspire Record 68636 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.33527

The reaction K + p → K ∗o (892) Δ ++ (1236) has been studied at 3 GeV/ c in both a hydrogen and a deuterium bubble chamber experiment. The production mechanism is described by a Regge-type model using π- and B-exchange. The joint decay distributions are analysed in various frames and compared with quark-model predictions.

A study of k+ d interactions from 865 to 1585 mev/c

Hirata, A.A. ; Goldhaber, G. ; Seeger, V.H. ; et al.

We present experimental results on K + d interactions from 865 to 1585 MeV/ c incident beam momentum. We report measurements of several K + d partial cross sections and calculate most of the others using relations derived from isospin conservation and data from other experiments. The most striking feature of the cross section data is the abrupt rise of the total single-pion-production cross section near 1000 MeV/ c . We extract isospin-0 KN partial cross sections and find a rapid quasi-two-body reaction KN → K ∗ N . As in the case of the isospin-1 K + N system, it appears that the structure around 1200 MeV/ c in the total cross section for the isospin-0 K ∗ N system is well reconstructed by the sum of three smoothly varying channel cross sections σ 0 (KN), σ 0 (KN π ) and σ 0 (KN ππ ). We study thereaction KN → K ∗ N near threshold and find that the production and decay angular distributions can be interpreted in terms of t -channel phenomena, specifically a superposition of ω, ϱ, and π exchange. As is true of the isospin-1 KΔ and K ∗ N final states, the isospin-0 K ∗ N state has a behavior near threshold which is not very different from its behavior at much higher energy.

Reaction pi+ p ---> eta0 delta++ - a test of a2 regge pole exchange

Grether, D.F. ; Gidal, G. ;
Phys.Rev.Lett. 26 (1971) 792-795, 1971.
Inspire Record 69010 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21507

New results are presented on the reaction π+p→η0Δ++ between 1.2 and 2.67 GeVc. The data above 2 GeVc, when combined with some existing data, give evidence for a dip in the t distribution near t=−1.5 (GeVc).2 This dip, and other features of the data, are adequately described by an A2 Regge-pole model. The effective A2 trajectory is calculated and found to disagree with that obtained from the reaction π−p→η0n.
