Emission of intermediate mass fragments (IMFs) (Z>~3) from central collisions of 40Ar+45Sc (E/A=35–115 MeV), 58Ni+58Ni (E/A=35–105 MeV), and 86Kr+93Nb (E/A=35–95 MeV) was studied. For each system, the average number of IMFs per event increased with beam energy, reached a maximum, and then decreased. The beam energy of peak IMF production increased linearly with the combined mass of the system. The number of IMFs emitted at the peak also increased with the system mass. Percolation calculations showed a weaker dependence of the peak beam energy and the number of IMFs on the total mass of the system.
Charged hadronic four-body decays of D 0 mesons have been studied in the E687 photoproduction experiment at Fermilab. Branching ratios relative to the D 0 → K − π + π + π − decay mode for the Cabibbo-suppressed decays D 0 → π − π + π − π + , D 0 → K − K + π − π + have been measured and the first evidence of the D 0 → K − K + K − π + decay mode is reported. An analysis of the D 0 → K − K + π − π + resonance structure is also presented.
Results for the Cabibbo suppressed semileptonic decays D 0 → π − e + ν and D 0 → π − μ + ν (charge conjugates are implied) are reported by Fermilab photoproduction experiment E687. We find 45.4 ± 13.3 events in the electron mode and 45.6 ± 11.8 in the muon mode. The relative branching ratio BR (D 0 →π − l + v) BR (D 0 →K − l + v) for the combined sample is measured to be 0.101 ± 0.020 (stat.) ± 0.003 (syst.) 14 .
We have measured the polarization of Λ and Λ hyperons produced by 800 GeV protons on a Be target at a fixed targeting angle of 4.8 mrad. Comparison with previous data at 400 GeV production energy and twice the targeting angle shows no significant energy dependence for the Λ polarization. This is in striking contrast to the energy dependence found for σ + and Ξ − polarizations. We find no evidence for Λ polarization at 800 GeV.
We study $\Lambda$ and $\bar{\Lambda}$ production asymmetries in $p \bar{p} \rightarrow \Lambda (\bar{\Lambda}) X$, $p \bar{p} \rightarrow J/\psi \Lambda (\bar{\Lambda}) X$, and $p \bar{p} \rightarrow \mu^\pm \Lambda (\bar{\Lambda}) X$ events recorded by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider at $\sqrt{s} = 1.96$ TeV. We find an excess of $\Lambda$'s ($\bar{\Lambda}$'s) produced in the proton (antiproton) direction. This forward-backward asymmetry is measured as a function of rapidity. We confirm that the $\bar{\Lambda}/\Lambda$ production ratio, measured by several experiments with various targets and a wide range of energies, is a universal function of "rapidity loss", i.e., the rapidity difference of the beam proton and the lambda.
Forward-backward asymmetry $A_{FB}$ of $\Lambda$ and $\bar{\Lambda}$ with $p_T > 2.0$ GeV in minimum bias events $p \bar{p} \rightarrow \Lambda (\bar{\Lambda}) X$, events $p \bar{p} \rightarrow J/\psi \Lambda (\bar{\Lambda}) X$, and events $p \bar{p} \rightarrow \mu^\pm \Lambda (\bar{\Lambda}) X$.
Forward-backward asymmetry $A_{FB}$ of $\Lambda$ and $\bar{\Lambda}$ in bins of $p_T$ in events $p \bar{p} \rightarrow \mu^\pm \Lambda (\bar{\Lambda}) X$.
Transverse momentum distributions of λ o , λ o , and K o , produced in pp collisions at x = 0, have obtained at the CERN ISR. The K o yield is in agreement with published K + , K − results, obtained at this centre-of-mass energy (√ s ≈44 GeV). The results on λ o and λ o production obtained in this experiment are compared with results obtained at lower centre-of-mass energies.

The inclusive production of π and η mesons at 90° from proton-proton collisions has been measured at the CERN ISR at centre-of-mass energies between 23.5 and 62.4 GeV. The momentum correlation of charged particles emitted together with a large transverse momentum pion has also been studied, using two magnetic spectrometers each centred at 90°.

We report differential cross sections for h+p→X+p (h=π±,K±,p±) at 100 and 200 GeV/c in the region 0.025<|t|<0.095 (GeV/c)2 and MX2s<0.1.

J/ ψ and ψ ′ production cross-sections are measured in pp and pd collisions at 450 GeV/ c at the CERN-SPS. The Drell-Yan cross section for muon pairs in the mass range [4.3–8.0] GeV/ c 2 is also determined in the same experiment.
The measured cross section for J/PSI production for P P and P DEUTERIUM interactions times their branching ratio to MU+ MU- pairs.. The fraction of the systematic error (DSYS) which must be taken into account in comparison of the two targets is 0.06 (0.13) for the P (DEUT) target.
The measured cross section for PSI(3685) production in P P and P DEUTERIUM interactions times their branching ratio to MU+ MU- pairs.. The fraction of the systematic error (DSYS) which must be taken into account in comparison of the two targets is 0.003 (0.006) for the P (DEUT) target.
The measured cross section for Drell Yan production in P P and P DEUTERIUM interactions.. The fraction of the systematic error (DSYS) which must be taken into account in comparison of the two targets is 0.5 (1.2) for the P (DEUT) target.
The cross-section ratio of neutral-current and charged-current semileptonic interactions of muon-neutrinos on isoscalar nuclei has been measured with the result:Rv=0.3093±0.0031 for hadronic energy larger than 4 GeV. From this ratio we determined the electroweak mixing angle sin2θW, wheremc is the charm-quark mass in GeV/c2. Comparison with direct measurements ofmw andmz determines the radiative shift of the intermediate boson mass Δr=0.077±0.025(exp.)±0.038(syst.), in agreement with the prediction. Assuming the validity of the electroweak standard theory we determined ϱ=0.990−0.013(mc−1.5)±0.009(exp.)±0.003(theor.).
