The production cross-sections of $J/\psi$ mesons in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=5$ TeV are measured using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $9.13\pm0.18~\text{pb}^{-1}$, collected by the LHCb experiment. The cross-sections are measured differentially as a function of transverse momentum, $p_{\text{T}}$, and rapidity, $y$, and separately for $J/\psi$ mesons produced promptly and from beauty hadron decays (nonprompt). With the assumption of unpolarised $J/\psi$ mesons, the production cross-sections integrated over the kinematic range $0<p_{\text{T}}<20~\text{GeV}/c$ and $2.0<y<4.5$ are $8.154\pm0.010\pm0.283~\mu\text{b}$ for prompt $J/\psi$ mesons and $0.820\pm0.003\pm0.034~\mu\text{b}$ for nonprompt $J/\psi$ mesons, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. These cross-sections are compared with those at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV and $13$ TeV, and are used to update the measurement of the nuclear modification factor in proton-lead collisions for $J/\psi$ mesons at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of $\sqrt{s_{\text{NN}}}=5$ TeV. The results are compared with theoretical predictions.

Cross-section measurements are performed as a function of the transverse momentum $p_\mathrm{T}$ and the rapidity $y$ of the $J/\psi$ meson in the region $p_\mathrm{T}<14\mathrm{GeV}/c$ and $2.0<y<4.5$, for both prompt $J/\psi$ mesons and $J/\psi$ mesons from $b$-hadron decays. The production cross-sections integrated over the kinematic coverage are $15.03\pm 0.03\pm 0.94$ $\mu$b for prompt $J/\psi$ and $2.25\pm 0.01\pm 0.14$ $\mu$b for $J/\psi$ from $b$-hadron decays, assuming zero polarization of the $J/\psi$ meson. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The cross-section reported for $J/\psi$ mesons from $b$-hadron decays is used to extrapolate to a total $b\bar{b}$ cross-section. The ratios of the cross-sections with respect to $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV are also determined.

The prompt and non-prompt production cross-sections for the chi_c1 and chi_c2 charmonium states are measured in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC using 4.5 fb^-1 of integrated luminosity. The chi_c states are reconstructed through the radiative decay chi_c -> J/psi gamma (with J/psi -> mu+mu-) where photons are reconstructed from gamma -> e+e- conversions. The production rate of the chi_c2 state relative to the chi_c1 state is measured for prompt and non-prompt chi_c as a function of J/psi transverse momentum. The prompt chi_c cross-sections are combined with existing measurements of prompt J/psi production to derive the fraction of prompt J/psi produced in feed-down from chi_c decays. The fractions of chi_c1 and chi_c2 produced in b-hadron decays are also measured.

The ALICE Collaboration has measured inclusive J/psi production in pp collisions at a center of mass energy sqrt(s)=2.76 TeV at the LHC. The results presented in this Letter refer to the rapidity ranges |y|<0.9 and 2.5<y<4 and have been obtained by measuring the electron and muon pair decay channels, respectively. The integrated luminosities for the two channels are L^e_int=1.1 nb^-1 and L^mu_int=19.9 nb^-1, and the corresponding signal statistics are N_J/psi^e+e-=59 +/- 14 and N_J/psi^mu+mu-=1364 +/- 53. In the dielectron channel the analysis was carried out on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity $L_{\rm int}$ = 5.6 nb$^{-1}$ and the number of signal events is $N_{J/\psi}=352 \pm 32$ (stat.) $\pm$ 28 (syst.); the corresponding figures in the dimuon channel are $L_{\rm int}$ = 15.6 nb$^{-1}$ and $N_{J/\psi} = 1924 \pm 77$ (stat.) $\pm$ 144(syst.). The differential cross sections, in transverse momentum and rapidity, of the J/$\psi$ were also measured.

The production of $J/\psi$ mesons in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$= 7 tev is studied with the LHCb detector at the LHC. The differential cross-section for prompt $J/\psi$ production is measured as a function of the $J/\psi$ transverse momentum p_{\rm T}\ and rapidity $y$ in the fiducial region $p_{\rm T}\in[0;14]$ GeV/c and $y\in[2.0;4.5]$. The differential cross-section and fraction of \j psi\ from $b$-hadron decays are also measured in the same p_{\rm T}\ and $y$ range s. The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminos ity of 5.2 pb$^{-1}$. The measured cross-sections integrated over the fiducial region are $10.52\pm 0. 04\pm 1.40^{+1.64}_{-2.20}\mu b$ for $\mathrm{prompt}~J/\psi$ production and $1.14 \pm 0. 01\pm 0.16 \mu b$ for $J/\psi$ from $b$-hadron decays, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The $\mathrm{prompt}~J/\psi$ production cross-section is obtained assuming no $J/\psi$ polarisation and the third error indicates the acceptance uncertainty due to this assumption.

The statistics available allow a detailed measurement of both the pT and rapidity distributions and are sufficient to constrain production models. The total cross section times branching ratio determined for J/Psi production is B_{ll} sigma_pp^J/psi = 178 +/- 3(stat) +/- 53(syst) +/- 18(norm) nb.

Mean PT^2 value at mid rapidities : -0.35<y<0.35 The mean PT is obtained with a phenomonological fit of the J/PSI distribution in PT of the form (1/(2*PI*PT))*D(SIG)/DPT = A ( 1+(PT/B)^2)^-6 .The systematic error includes the incertainty from the maximum shape deviation permitted by the point-to-point correlated errors and from allowing the exponent of the fit fonctionto be a free parameter.
J/psi production in d+Au and p+p collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 200 GeV has been measured by the PHENIX experiment at rapidities -2.2 < y < +2.4. The cross sections and nuclear dependence of J/\psi production versus rapidity, transverse momentum, and centrality are obtained and compared to lower energy p+A results and to theoretical models. The observed nuclear dependence in d+Au collisions is found to be modest, suggesting that the absorption in the final state is weak and the shadowing of the gluon distributions is small and consistent with Dokshitzer-Gribov-Lipatov-Altarelli-Parisi-based parameterizations that fit deep-inelastic scattering and Drell-Yan data at lower energies.
