The inclusive cross section for production of isolated photons has been measured in \pbarp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 630$ GeV with the \D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The photons span a transverse energy ($E_T$) range from 7-49 GeV and have pseudorapidity $|\eta| < 2.5$. This measurement is combined with to previous \D0 result at $\sqrt{s} = 1800$ GeV to form a ratio of the cross sections. Comparison of next-to-leading order QCD with the measured cross section at 630 GeV and ratio of cross sections show satisfactory agreement in most of the $E_T$ range.

THE CROSS SECTION HAS BEEN FITTED BY THE FORMULA: D(SIG)/D(PT**2)= CONST*EXP(-SLOPE*PT**2).
The nuclear dependence for 800 GeV/c proton production of neutron D mesons has been measured near xF=0 in Experiment 789 at Fermilab. D mesons from beryllium and gold targets were detected with a pair spectrometer and a silicon vertex detector via their decay D→Kπ. No nuclear dependence is found, with a measured α=1.02±0.03±0.02. The measured differential cross section, dσ/dxF, for neutral-D-meson production at 〈xF〉=0.031 is 58±3±7 μb/nucleon. The integrated cross section obtained by extrapolation of the measured cross section to all xF is 17.7±0.9±3.4 μb/nucleon and is consistent with previous measurements.

Distributions for transverse momentum P ⊥ and cumulative number X of inclusive neutral pions are measured with a lead glass calorimeter in α +C→ π 0 +x and α +Cu→ π 0 +x reactions at 4.5 GeV/ c per nucleon. The target-mass dependence for π 0 production is presented.

Inclusive production ofK0 andK* (892)0 mesons inK+A-interactions (A=Be, Cu, Pb) at the energy 11.2 GeV has been investigated to study hadronisation of the leading\(\bar s\)-quark; the results are presented. Double differential cross sections d2σ/dxfdpt2 were measured in the region of incident particle fragmentation (0.4≦xf≦1,pt≦0.5 GeV/c). The experimental data obtained were analysed on the basis of the Lund model FRITIOF and a quark-gluon model that takes into account colour screening and hadron formation length effects. The experimental data confirm the picture of hadronisation of the leading\(\bar s\)-quark developed in the latter model.

Data are presented on inclusiveKs0 and Λ production inK+ and π+ collisions with Al and Au nuclei at 250 GeV/c. Results are given on total inclusive cross sections and theA dependence, as well as on distributions in Feynman-xF, rapidityy and transverse momentum. We report on a study of inclusiveπ0 and η meson production inπ+p andK+p interactions at 250 GeV/c beam momentum. The Feynman-x spectrum ofπ0 is very similar in shape and normalization to that of negatively charged particles produced in the same experiment. The results are compared with data at other energies and with FRITIOF model predictions. This model overestimates the η cross section by a factor of 2.5. It reproduces theπ0 cross section correctly, but predicts a too hardπ0x distribution.

Inclusive production of direct soft photons is studied inK+p andK+π interactions at 250 GeV/c. Total cross sections, Feynman-x and transverse momentum distributions of direct γ's are presented. The measured cross sections are several times larger than expected from QED inner bremsstrahlung, indicating the presence of an anomalous soft photon source. The model of Lichard and Van Hove, based on the “cold quark-gluon plasma” picture, agrees with the data.

We report on a study of inclusive particle production in pp-interactions at 400 GeV/c. The data are based on 472 K reconstructed events recorded in the NA 27 experiment using the LEBC-EHS facility at CERN. The production cross sections are determined of pseudo scalar (π±,0, η andK±), scalar (f0(975)), vector (ρ±,0(770), ω(783), ϕ(1020),K*0(892), and\(\bar K^{ * 0} \)(892)), and tensorf0 mesons, of protons and antiprotons, and theΔ++,+,0(1232), and Λ(1520) baryon resonances in the forward hemisphere of the center of mass system, as well as longitudinal and transverse momentum distributions. The results are compared with predictions of the FRITIOF model and with other experimental data.
