Photoproduction of phi mesons on protons at 2.0 gev

At the Bonn 2.5 GeV synchrotron the differential photoproduction cross section d σ /d t of φ mesons has been measured at a photon energy of 2.0 GeV at fibe different t values between 0.23 < | t | < 0.73 (GeV/ c ) 2 . The φ meson was detected by magnetic momentum analysis of both charged decay K mesons and by a time of flight and angle measurement of the coincident recoil proton. We found an exponential behaviour for the t dependence of the cross section. The measured slope of the exponential decrease was b = (4.01 ± 0.23) (GeV/ c −2 . This result, combined with previous measurements at higher energies, implies that the slope of the pomeron trajectory is compatible with zero. In addition the experiment yielded a value of the φ mass, m φ = (1019.4 ± 0.8) MeV and a value of the φ width, Γ = (4.4 ± 0.4) MeV.

The reaction K$^+$d $\to$ K$^0 \pi^+$d at 4.6 GeV/c and the effective exchanged trajectory for the reactions  K$^\pm$d $\to$ K$^{*\pm}$(892)d

Inspire Record 80669 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.32246

In an experiment with the CERN 2 metre DBC the reaction K$^+$d $\to$ K$^0 \pi^+$d is studied at an incident momentum of 4.6 GeV/c. The cross section is found to be (66 ± 10) μb for four-momentum transfer squared from target to recoil deuteron greater than 0.02 GeV 2 , and the reaction is dominated by the production of K$^*+$ (892) via natural parity exchange. Using data for the reactions K$^\pm$d $\to$ K$^{*\pm}$(892)d in the incident momentum range 2–13 GeV/ c the parameters of the effective exchanged trajectory are estimated.

We present an analysis, in the framework of the triple Regge model, of our recent experimental results on the reaction p+p→p+X between 50 and 400 GeV.

The cross sections is fitted in the framework of the triple Regge model. The symbols P and R in the (C=...) denote pomeron and reggeon, respectively. For fit I and II the authors used conventional trajectories alpha(P) = 1 +0.25*T, alpha(R) = 0.5 + T. Fit II is restricted to data with (1 - M(P=4)**2/S) > 0.84. In fit III they use alpha(R) = 0.2 + T for the RRP term. Fit IV is like fit I with additional fixed (pion pion P) term.

The cross sections is fitted in the farmework of the triple Regge model. The symbols P and R in teh (C=...) denote pomeron and reggeon, respectively. CONST(C=C) and SLOPE are from the replacement of the RRP term by the exponential one : CONST(C=C)*(SLOPE*(1-x)). See text for detail.

Anti-proton - deuteron low-energy cross-section

About 45000 interactions of antiprotons of kinetic energy between 57 and 170 MeV have been measured in a deuterium bubble chamber. Total and annihilation cross-sections have been determined at 9 values of the antiproton energy together with the differential crosssection dσ/dt for scattering events. In spite of the peculiar behaviour of the deuteron target at these low energies a reliable measure of the antiproton-neutron annihilation cross-section has been obtained.

We have measured cross sections, rapidity and transverse momentum distributions, and vector meson polarization for the reactions pp→ ϱ o +anything, pp→ ω +charged particles, and pp → K ∗± + anything at incident laboratory momenta of 12 and 24 GeV/ c . We discuss various consequences of our results as well as possible connections with lepton pair production.

Polarization in backward elastic pi+ p scattering at 2.0, 3.5 and 4.0 gev/c

Bradamante, F. ; Conetti, S. ; Daum, C. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 56 (1973) 356-380, 1973.
Inspire Record 84069 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.6773

Data on polarization in backward elastic π + p scattering at 2.0, 3.5 and 4.0 GeV/ c are presented. The data at 2.0 GeV/ c are compared with the result of a recent phase-shift analysis. Our data at 3.5 and 4.0 GeV/ c , and existing data above 3 GeV/ c , show no significant energy dependence of the polarization over the measured u -range. A comparison with Regge models and with results from amplitude analysis is made.

The time-like electromagnetic form factors of the charged pseudoscalar mesons from 1.44-GeV**2 to 9.0-GeV**2.

Phys.Lett.B 46 (1973) 261-264, 1973.

The study of 620 hadron pairs produced in the s -range (1.44−9.0) GeV 2 , has yielded 110 collinear hadronic events. Their identification in terms of π and K mesons allows the determination of the time-like electromagnetic from factors of these pseudoscalar mesons in the above time-like range. The total number of (e + e − ) events observed in the same experimental conditions is 18 048.
