Differential cross sections have been measured for the interactions p p → π − π + and p p → K − K + over a centre of mass angular range −0.95 ⩽ cos θ ∗ ⩽ 0.95 at 20 incident momenta between 0.79 and 2.43 GeV/ c . A magnetic spectrometer with wire spark chambers was used. Typically 2000 π − π + and 300 K − K + events were obtained at each momentum. Results are compared with those from related experiments.

K- p Cross-Sections Between 1.1-GeV/c and 1.4-GeV/c

Griselin, J. ; Givernaud, A. ; Barloutaud, R. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 93 (1975) 189-216, 1975.
Inspire Record 99412 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.6708

K − p reactions have been studied at 13 different incident momenta between 1138 and 1434 MeV/ c . This interval corresponds to a mass of the K − p system varying from 1858 to 1993 MeV. About 300 000 photographs were taken in the 81 cm Saclay hydrogen bubble chamber exposed to a separated K − beam at the CERN proton-synchrotron. A total of about 44 000 events were analyzed, from which partial and differential cross sections were determined. Polarizations were obtained for the two-body reactions where the decay of the Λ or Σ hyperon allowed their measurement. Data for the two-body channels are presented here as well as for the main quasi-two-body reactions.

New measurement of the total cross-section in proton proton scattering in pure spin states

de Boer, W. ; Fernow, Richard C. ; Krisch, A.D. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 34 (1975) 558-559, 1975.
Inspire Record 107097 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.3352

We have remeasured the total cross section for proton-proton scattering at 2-6 GeV/c in the spin states ↑↑ and ↑↓ perpendicular to the beam direction. With the reduced errors significant differences were found between the two cross sections.

Inclusive and Semiinclusive $\rho^0$ Production in $\pi^- p$ Interactions at 147-GeV/c.

Fong, D. ; Heller, M. ; Shapiro, A.M. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 60 (1975) 124-128, 1975.
Inspire Record 102526 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.27734

We present data on inclusive and semi-inclusive ϱ 0 production in 147 GeV/ c π − p interactions. We find a total cross section of 7.3 ± 1.3 mb. Most of this cross section is found in the lower topology events (⩽ 10 prongs), and in the central and forward rapidity regions. The P T 2 dependence of ϱ 0 production, 〈: n > ϱ 0 per event, and the ϱ 0 / π + ratios are also discussed.

Study of the Reactions K- p ---> Lambda0+ in the C.M. Range from 1580 to 1750 MeV

Nucl.Phys.B 85 (1975) 289-310, 1975.
Inspire Record 108008 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.32121

Results on the channels K − p → Λ 0 η 0 , Λ 0 π 0 , Σ 0 π 0 , Λ 0 π 0 π 0 and Σ 0 π 0 π 0 are obtained in a K − p formation experiment using 1 million photographs taken in a heavy liquid bubble chamber filled with a CF 3 BrC 3 H 8 mixture. The results are compared with hydrogen bubble chamber (HBC) experiments and with experiments having full or partial gamma-ray detection. Our Λ 0 π 0 and Λ 0 + neutral cross section agree with HBC results. Our Σ 0 π 0 cross section does not exhibit a bump at 1670 MeV as previously seen in HBC experiments. Our Λ 0 π 0 π 0 data are dominated by a Σ (1385) π 0 production. Our Σ 0 π 0 π 0 data is consistent with the presence of some Σ (1405) π 0 production.

The Reactions K+ n --> (K pi pi) 0+ n+ 0 at 2-GeV/c to 3-GeV/c

Nucl.Phys.B 97 (1975) 413-425, 1975.
Inspire Record 103797 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.31923

The reactions K + n → K + π + π − n, K + n → K 0 π + π − p and K + n → K + π − π 0 p have b investigated in a 3.8 event/μb K + d bubble chamber experiment with incident momenta of 2.2, 2.45 and 2.7 GeV/ c . Channel cross sections are given and the general characteristics of the production processes described. The isobar model is used in an attempt to determine the spin-parity structure of the final states.

Observation of a Spin 4 Boson Resonance at 2050-MeV

Phys.Lett.B 57 (1975) 403-406, 1975.
Inspire Record 103339 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.27842

We report the observation of a spin 4 resonance from the analysis of the reaction π − p→ K + K − n. The mass and width of the h-meson were determined to be 2050 MeV and 225 MeV. The quantum numbers are J P = 4 + , C = +1 and very probably I G = 0 + .

Evidence for J(PC) = 4++ for the S (1930) Meson from anti-p p Backward Elastic Scattering

D'Andlau, C. ; Cohen-Ganouna, J. ; Laloum, M. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 58 (1975) 223-227, 1975.
Inspire Record 103552 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.27801

We report on partial results of the analysis of a p̄p backward elastic scattering experiment, between 175 and 750 MeV/ c . Various evidences are given of the resonant nature of a backward peak at the S-meson mass. Analysis leads to J PC =4 ++ , firmly connected to other experimental data with I G =1 − . All results agree for an assignment to the A 2 trajectory.

Study of the Reaction anti-p p --> anti-Delta++ Delta++ at 9.1-GeV/c

Walck, C. ; Carlsson, R. ; Ekspong, G. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 100 (1975) 61-73, 1975.
Inspire Record 104375 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.36103

Single and joint decay angular distributions in the reaction p p → Δ ++ Δ ++ at 9.13 GeV/ c are discussed in the framework of single and double statistical tensors. The t dependence of 12 double statistical tensors is presented. Cross sections for p p → p p π + π − and p p → Δ ++ Δ ++ are determined to be 2.60 ± 0.10 and 0.90 ± 0.10 mb respectively. The results obtained are compared with other experiments mainly at 5.7 and 12 GeV/ c .
