The paper presents studies of Bose-Einstein Correlations (BEC) for pairs of like-sign charged particles measured in the kinematic range $p_{\rm T}>$ 100 MeV and $|\eta|<$ 2.5 in proton--proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 0.9 and 7 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The integrated luminosities are approximately 7 $\mu$b$^{-1}$, 190 $\mu$b$^{-1}$ and 12.4 nb$^{-1}$ for 0.9 TeV, 7 TeV minimum-bias and 7 TeV high-multiplicity data samples, respectively. The multiplicity dependence of the BEC parameters characterizing the correlation strength and the correlation source size are investigated for charged-particle multiplicities of up to 240. A saturation effect in the multiplicity dependence of the correlation source size is observed using the high-multiplicity 7 TeV data sample. The dependence of the BEC parameters on the average transverse momentum of the particle pair is also investigated.
Systematic uncertainties on $\lambda$ and $R$ for the exponential fit of the two-particle double-ratio correlation function $R_{2}(Q)$ in the full kinematic region at $\sqrt{s} = 0.9$ and $7\ TeV$ for minimum-bias and high-multiplicity (HM) events, $n_{ch} \ge 2$ and $n_{ch} \ge 150$, respectively.
Results of fitting the multiplicity, $n_{ch}$, dependence of the BEC parameters $R$ and $\lambda$ with different functional forms for $\sqrt{s} = 0.9$ and $7\ TeV$. The $n_{ch}$ fit of $R(n_{ch})$ is applied to $7\ TeV$ minimum-bias events at $n_{ch} \le 55$ and to $0.9\ TeV$ minimum-bias events. The constant fit of $R(n_{ch} )$ is applied to $7\ TeV$ minimum-bias events for $n_{ch} > 55$ and to $7\ TeV$ high-multiplicity events. The exponential fit of $\lambda(n_{ch})$ is applied to $7\ TeV$ minimum-bias and high-multiplicity events. The error represent the quadratic sum of the statistical and systematic uncertainties.
Results of fitting the transverse momentum of the pair, $k_{T}$, dependence of the BEC parameters $R$ and $\lambda$ with the exponential fitting function for $\sqrt{s} = 0.9$ and $7\ TeV$. The error represent the quadratic sum of the statistical and systematic uncertainties.
We study the process e+e- -> pi+pi-pi+pi-gamma, with a photon emitted from the initial-state electron or positron, using 454.3 fb^-1 of data collected with the BABAR detector at SLAC, corresponding to approximately 260,000 signal events. We use these data to extract the non-radiative sigma(e+e- ->pi+pi-pi+pi-) cross section in the energy range from 0.6 to 4.5 Gev. The total uncertainty of the cross section measurement in the peak region is less than 3%, higher in precision than the corresponding results obtained from energy scan data.

We have measured $\rho$ , the ratio of the real to the imaginary part of the $p \bar{p}$ forward elastic scattering amplitude, at $\sqrt{s}$ = 1.8 TeV. Our result is $\rho$ = 0.132 $\pm$ 0.056; this can be combined with a previous measurement at the same energy to give $\rho$ = 0.135 $\pm$ 0.044.

We report a measurement of the p p ̄ total cross section at s =1.8 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, using the luminosity independent method. Our result is σ T =71.71±2.02 mb. We also obtained values of the total elastic and total inelastic cross sections.

We have studied single diffraction dissociation ( p p→ p X ) in proton-antiproton collisions at √ s =1.8TeV, covering the ranges 3⪅ M X ⪅200 GeV and 0.05⪅| t |⪅0.11 (GeV/ c ) 2 . Parameterizing the production to be of the form dσ ( d t d M 2 X ) = (M 2 X ) −α exp (bt) , we obtain α = 1.13±0.07 and b = 10.5±1.8(GeV/ c ) −2 . The total single diffraction dissociation cross section is 2 σ SD =8.1±1.7 mb. Comparisons are made to previous lower energy data, and to an earlier measurement by us at the same energy.
Total single diffraction cross section.
We have measured ρ, the ratio of the real to the imaginary part of the p¯p forward elastic-scattering amplitude, at √s =1.8 TeV. Our result, ρ=0.140±0.069, is compared with extrapolations from lower-energy data based on dispersion relations, and with the UA4 value at √s =546 GeV.

We report a measurement of the p p total cross section at √ s =1.8 TeV using a luminosity-independent method. Our result is σ T =72.1±3.3 mb ; we also derive the total elastic cross section σ el =16.6±1.6 mb. A value is obtained for the total single diffraction cross section of 11.7±2.3 mb.

We have measured the antiproton-proton total cross section at √s =1.8 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider; the value obtained is 78.3±5.9 mb. B, the nuclear slope parameter for elastic scattering, was measured to be 16.3±0.5 (GeV/c)−2. From these data, we derive a value for the total elastic cross section.

Total cross section measurement. Errors contain systematic effects folded including a 15 PCT error in luminosity measurement which dominates the error.
Total cross section assuming RHO = 0.145 (low energy fit). If RHO is taken as 0.24 obtained by UA4 at sqrt(s) = 546 GeV, the value of SIG is reduced by 1.8 PCT.
