We have measured the partial width and forward-backward charge asymmetry for the reaction e + e - →Z 0 →μ + μ - (γ). We obtain a partial width Γ μμ of 83.3±1.3(stat)±0.9(sys) MeV and the following values for the vector and axial vector couplings: g v =−0.062 −0.015 +0.020 and g A =−0.497 −0.005 +0.005 . From our measurement of the partial width and the mass of the Z 0 boson we determine the effective electroweak mixing angle, sin 2 θ w =0.232±0.005, and the neutral current coupling strength parameter, ϱ =0.998±0.016.

We have measured the forward-backward asymmetry in Z 0 → b b decays using hadronic events containing muons and electrons. The data sample corresponds to 118 200 hadronic events at √ s ≈ M z . From a fit to the single and dilepton p and P ⊥ spectra, we determine A b b =0.130 −0.042 +0.044 including the correction for B 0 − B 0 mixing.

We have measured the forward-backward asymmetry in e + e − → b b and e + e − → c c processes using hadronic events containing muons or electrons. The data sample corresponds to 4100000 hadronic decays of the Z 0 . From a fit to the single lepton and dilepton p and p T spectra, we determine A b b =0.086±0.015±0.007 and A c c =0.083±0.038±0.027 at the effective center-of-mass energy √ s =91.24 GeV. These measurements yield a value of the electroweak mixing angle sin 2 θ w =0.2336±0.0029 .

Production asymmetry of D/s from 600-GeV/c Sigma- and pi- beam.

Phys.Lett.B 558 (2003) 34-40, 2003.
Inspire Record 613961 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.41958

The production of $D_s^-$ relative to $D_s^+$ as a function of $x_F $ with 600 GeV/c $\Sigma^-$ beam is measured in the interval $0.15 < x_F < 0.7$ by the SELEX (E781) experiment at Fermilab. The integrated charge asymmetries with 600 GeV/c $\Sigma^-$ beam ($0.53\pm0.06$) and $\pi^-$ beam ($0.06\pm0.11$) are also compared. The results show the $\Sigma^-$ beam fragments play a role in the production of $D_s^-$, as suggested by the leading quark model.

We study the lepton forward-backward asymmetry AFB and the longitudinal K* polarization FL, as well as an observable P2 derived from them, in the rare decays B->K*l+l-, where l+l- is either e+e- or mu+mu-, using the full sample of 471 million BBbar events collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Babar detector at the PEP-II e+e- collider. We separately fit and report results for the B+->K*+l+l- and B0->K*0l+l- final states, as well as their combination B->K*l+l-, in five disjoint dilepton mass-squared bins. An angular analysis of B+->K*+l+l- decays is presented here for the first time.

Evidence for the charge asymmetry in $pp \rightarrow t\bar{t}$ production at $\sqrt{s}= 13$ TeV with the ATLAS detector

Inclusive and differential measurements of the top-antitop ($t\bar{t}$) charge asymmetry $A_\text{C}^{t\bar{t}}$ and the leptonic asymmetry $A_\text{C}^{\ell\bar{\ell}}$ are presented in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The measurement uses the complete Run 2 dataset, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb$^{-1}$, combines data in the single-lepton and dilepton channels, and employs reconstruction techniques adapted to both the resolved and boosted topologies. A Bayesian unfolding procedure is performed to correct for detector resolution and acceptance effects. The combined inclusive $t\bar{t}$ charge asymmetry is measured to be $A_\text{C}^{t\bar{t}} = 0.0068 \pm 0.0015$, which differs from zero by 4.7 standard deviations. Differential measurements are performed as a function of the invariant mass, transverse momentum and longitudinal boost of the $t\bar{t}$ system. Both the inclusive and differential measurements are found to be compatible with the Standard Model predictions, at next-to-next-to-leading order in quantum chromodynamics perturbation theory with next-to-leading-order electroweak corrections. The measurements are interpreted in the framework of the Standard Model effective field theory, placing competitive bounds on several Wilson coefficients.

The unfolded inclusive charge asymmetry. The measured values are given with statistical and systematic uncertainties. The SM theory predictions calculated at NNLO in QCD and NLO in EW theory are listed, and the impact of the linear term of the Wilson coefficient on the $A_C^{t\bar{t}}$ prediction is shown for two different values. The scale uncertainty is obtained by varying renormalisation and factorisation scales independently by a factor of 2 or 0.5 around $\mu_0$ to calculate the maximum and minimum value of the asymmetry, respectively. The nominal value $\mu_0$ is chosen as $H_T/4$. The variations in which one scale is multiplied by 2 while the other scale is divided by 2 are excluded. Finally, the scale and MC integration uncertainties are added in quadrature.

We have measured the properties of Z 0 → b b decays using a sample of 944 inclusive muon events, corresponding to 18 000 hadron events obtained with the L3 detector at LEP. We measured the partial decay width of the Z 0 into b b , Γ b b =353±48 MeV , and we determined the vector coupling of the Z 0 to the b quark; g rmv 2 (b)=0.095±0.047. We measured the forward-backward charge asymmetry in e + e − → b b events at √ s ≈ M v , and obtained A b b =13.3±9.9% .
