The reaction π−N→KS0KS0π−N′ at 200 GeV/c has been observed with a sensitivity of 450±150 events/μb. The KS0KS0π− system exhibits substantial K*−(890)K0 production. Also produced are f0(1270)π−, f′(1515)π−, and K*−(1430)K0 final states. These resonances occur predominantly at threshold. The diffractive KS0KS0π− cross section is 3.4±1.1 μb. An enhancement near the A3−(1680) is observed in the KS0KS0π− invariant-mass distribution.

Hadron and Hadron Pair Production at Large Transverse Momentum in $p \bar{p}$ and $p p$ Interactions at the {ISR}

Phys.Lett.B 121 (1983) 439-444, 1983.
Inspire Record 182425 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30813

We have measured the production of one and two large transverse momentum hadrons in p p and pp interactions in the range 2 < p T < 6 GeV/ c for the central rapidity region |y| < 0.9 at s = 63 and 31 GeV . No statistically significant difference between p p and pp collisions is observed. The results are in accordance with lowest order QCS perturbative calculations and rule out a large contribution of Constituent Interchange Model (CIM), di-quark of quark-fusion subprocesses in this kinematic range.

A Partial Wave Analysis of the $K^- \phi$ System Produced in the Reaction $K^- p \to K^+ K^- K^- p$ at 18.5-{GeV}/$c$

About 15 000 K − Φp events have been collected in the CERN Ω′ spectrometer. A partial-wave decomposition of the K − Φ system is performed. The 1 + SO + wave is dominant. The 0 − P0 + and 2 − P0 + waves are important and show resonant behaviour at ∼ 1.83 GeV (Γ ∼ 0.25 GeV) and ∼ 1.73 GeV (Γ ∼ 0.22 GeV) respectively. The first one can be interpreted as the second radial excitation of the kaon while the second one can be identified as one of the two L mesons.

A Study of Two Photon Production of Two-body Final States With Invariant Mass Greater Than 2.0-{GeV}

We have measured the electron, muon, and charged-hadron pair production rates in two-phonon interactions for invariant masses above 2.0 GeV over a large of momentum transfer. The cross sections for electron and muon pairs show good agreement with the QED predictions at both small and large momentum transfer. The observed rate of hadron production is less than 6% of the rate that QED predicts for point-like hadrons, consistent with recent leading-order QCD calculations.

Amplitude Analysis of the K0(s) K0(s) System Produced in the Reaction pi- p ---> K0(s) K0(s) n at 23-GeV/c

We have carried out an amplitude analysis of the KS0KS0 system produced in the reaction π−p→KS0KS0n at 23 GeV/c, based on about 15 000 events in the low-t region (|t−tmin|<0.1 GeV2). Below 1.6 GeV/c2, our favored solution is very similar to those from previous analyses. For higher masses, we observe the KS0KS0 decay of the h(2040) meson. In addition, the l=0 partial wave contains a new state, strongly coupled to KS0KS0, with parameters M=1.771−0.053+0.077 GeV/c2 and Γ=0.200−0.009+0.156 GeV/c2. Since this state is most probably I=0, we call it the S*′(1770). We find an f′f production ratio of 0.23−0.13+0.14, and branching ratios for f-meson and h(2040)-meson decays into KK¯ of (3.1−1.7+0.7)% and (0.67−0.15+0.41)%, respectively. We find, in a detailed comparison of our results with those from other experiments, that our solution is compatible with all known features of both charged and neutral KK¯ systems.

Energy Dependence of Jet Measures in $e^+ e^-$ Annihilation

The PLUTO collaboration Berger, Christoph ; Genzel, H. ; Grigull, R. ; et al.
Z.Phys.C 12 (1982) 297, 1982.
Inspire Record 169193 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.16424

The jet character of the hadronic final states produced ine+e− annihilations is studied in terms of jet measures such as thrust, sphericity, jet opening angle and jet masses, in the energy range 7.7 to 31.6 GeV. All distributions and averages have been corrected for detector effects and initial state radiation. The energy dependence of the averages of these jet quantities is used to estimate the contributions due to perturbative QCD and fragmentation effects. Correlations between the jet measures and the multiplicity of charged hadrons are also presented.

Dimuon Scaling Comparison at 44-{GeV} and 62-{GeV}

Antreasyan, D. ; Becker, U. ; Bellettini, G. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 48 (1982) 302, 1982.
Inspire Record 168182 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20610

Measurements of pp→μ+μ−+X at s=44 and 62 GeV are compared. The data are taken under identical conditions utilizing clean proton-proton collisions from the CERN intersecting storage rings and confirm scaling to 5%. The observed μ+μ− yield is a factor of 1.6±0.2 larger than estimated from a simple parton model but is consistent with QCD. The pT dependence of the muon pairs agrees well with expectations from QCD.

Phys.Lett.B 96 (1980) 417-421, 1980.
Inspire Record 154577 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.27163

Inclusive dimuon production by 39.5 GeV/ c π ± , K ± , p and p¯ is described for masses greater than 2.0 GeV/ c 2 . The π − , π + and (π − − π + ) continuum cross-sections exceed the naive Drell-Yan predictions by a factor ∼2.4. The pion valence structure function has been measured and is consistent with a corresponding measurement at 200 GeV/ c .

Prompt dimuon production has been measured. Events with mass up to 25 GeV/c2 are observed, as well as the J and ϒ resonances. Cross sections are given for J and ϒ production. For the continuum, the scaling function F(τ) is measured at very small values of τ=ms covering the range 0.05<τ<0.20.
