The differential cross section has been measured using 940 events from the BNL 30-inch deuterium bubble chamber. Events were selected without regard to length of the deuteron, and so wide-angle scatters are included. The data are fitted well by a Glauber model with reasonable assumptions about the parameters.

INTEGRATED CROSS SECTION USING EXPONENTIAL FIT TO FORWARD PEAK (SLOPE = 25.2 +- 1.4 GEV**-2).
We present data on the inclusive neutron spectra produced in the forward direction by the interactions of 23.85 GeV/ c protons in a copper target. The results are in good agreement with the predictions of the triple-Regge model.

Virtual photoproduction of J/ ψ mesons has been measured for 280 GeV muon iron interactions in an iron/scintillator calorimeter target. The J/ψ's were identified by their decay into muon pairs. 315 events were observed, about half of which were elastic. The t , Q 2 and v distributions of these elastic events are presented. The v dependence is measured between 40 and 180 Mev and compared with lower energy photoproduction results. The Q 2 dependence is compared with the predictions of the vector dominance model.
TPRIME DISTRIBUTION OF ELASTIC J/PSI EVENTS FOR ALL Q2 AND NU WITH 280 GEV MUON BEAM.
NORMALIZED Q**2 DISTRIBUTION OF ELASTIC J/PSI EVENTS FOR ALL NU AND T WITH 280 GEV MUON BEAM.
EXTRAPOLATION OF Q**2 AND T DEPENDENCE TO CALCULATE D(SIG)/DT AT Q**2=0 AND T=0 FOR ELASTIC J/PSI PHOTOPRODUCTION PER NUCLEON.
The cross section for 180° elastic scattering of antiprotons by protons between 406 and 922 MeV/c has been measured. A single-arm spectrometer detected recoil protons corresponding to events with 〈cosθc.m.〉=−0.994. The regions of the reported resonances at 1936 and 2020 MeV were scanned in 10-MeV/c steps with a typical statistical error of ≈ 7% and an rms mass resolution of ±3 MeV. No narrow enhancements (Γ<10 MeV) were observed.
735 MEV/C VALUE MISPRINTED IN JOURNAL - CORRECTION SUPPLIED BY M. A. GARNJOST (PRIV COMM 28 MAR 1980).
Total and annihilation cross sections for p¯p and p¯d have been measured over the momentum range 355-1066 MeV/c at closely spaced momenta and with good energy resolution. No evidence is seen for the narrow structure reported by other experiments in the vicinity of 500 MeV/c. The present measurements indicate a broader enhancement in this region, which, if interpreted as a resonance, would have a height of ∼ 3 mb and a width of ∼ 20 MeV. This structure appears only in the p¯p data.

Charge-exchange cross section for antiprotons on protons has been measured in closely spaced momentum intervals from 0.119 to 1.046 GeV/c. The regions of the reported resonances at 1936 and 2020 MeV were scanned in 10-MeV/c steps with a typical statistical error of ≈ 1% and an rms mass resolution of ± 1.5 MeV. No enhancements were observed.
ERROR ON INCIDENT MOMENTUM IS RMS RESOLUTION. LARGE UNCERTAINTIES EXIST IN THE MEAN INTERACTION MOMENTUM FOR THE TWO LOWEST MOMENTUM POINTS.
A measurement of the nucleon structure function F 2 on iron is presented. The data cover a kinematic range of 3.25 ⪕ Q 2 ⪕ 200 GeV 2 and 0.05 ⪕ x ⪕ 0.65 . The data clearly show scaling violation. Fits in leading-order QCD have been made and values for the scale breaking parameter λ are given.

Results from K± elastic and inelastic scattering from C12 and Ca40 are reported. The data were all taken at an incident momentum of 800 MeV/c over an angular range from 2° to 38°. The elastic data are compared to first-order optical model calculations in coordinate and momentum space; good qualitative agreement is obtained. The inelastic data (from C12 only) are compared to distorted-wave Born approximation calculations, and good agreement is found if "realistic" inelastic transition densities are used. Although a first-order optical potential description does not describe the data fully, there are strong indications of the increased penetrability of K+ over K− in this energy range. NUCLEAR REACTIONS C12(K±,K±)C12, Ca40(K±,K±)Ca40, E=442 MeV (800 MeV/c), measured σ(θ) for elastic and inelastic scattering, compared to optical model and DWBA calculations, deduced optical potential parameters; θ=2°−38°, Δθ=1°.

Differential cross sections for π ± p→ π ± p have been measured at P π between 378 and 687 MeV / c at 9 angles in the range −0.8⩽cos θ c.m. ⩽0.6. Scattered pions and recoil protons were detected in coincidence using scintillation counter hodoscopes. For almost all of the data the statistical and normalization uncertainties are each less than 2%. Our measurements are compared with existing data and the results of recent partial wave analyses.

Using the data on deep inelastic muon scattering on iron and deuterium the ratio of the nucleon structure functions F 2 N ( Fe )/ F 2 N ( D ) is presented. The observed x -dependence of this ratio is in disagreement with existing theoretical predictions.
