Differential cross sections for the reactions γp→π0p, π+n and γn→π−p, π0n were measured in a single experiment using tagged photons in the energy region 240-450 MeV incident on H21 and H22 targets. Results of the measurements of the ratios π0nπ0p and π−pπ+n are presented. The ratio of isotensor to isovector amplitude is found to be 0.00±0.02.

Nearly complete angular distributions of the two-body deuteron photodisintegration differential cross section have been measured using the CLAS detector and the tagged photon beam at JLab. The data cover photon energies between 0.5 and 3.0 GeV and center-of-mass proton scattering angles 10-160 degrees. The data show a persistent forward-backward angle asymmetry over the explored energy range, and are well-described by the non-perturbative Quark Gluon String Model.

We have measured dijet angular distributions at √s =1.8 TeV with the Collider Detector at Fermilab and the Tevatron p¯p Collider and find agreement with leading-order QCD. By comparing the distribution for the highest dijet invariant masses with the prediction of a model of quark compositeness, we set a lower limit on the associated scale parameter Λc at 330 GeV (95% C.L.).

The differential cross-section for the process p(e,e'p)eta has been measured at Q2 ~ 5.7 and 7.0 (GeV/c)2 for centre-of-mass energies from threshold to 1.8 GeV, encompassing the S11(1535) resonance, which dominates the channel. This is the highest momentum transfer measurement of this exclusive process to date. The helicity-conserving transition amplitude A_1/2, for the production of the S11(1535) resonance, is extracted from the data. This quantity appears to begin scaling as 1/Q3, a predicted signal of the dominance of perturbative QCD, at Q2 ~ 5 (GeV/c)2.
Total cross section for the lower Q**2 data as a function of W. The errors are statistics and systematic added in quadrature.
Total cross section for the higher Q**2 data as a function of W. The errors are statistics and systematic added in quadrature.
Lower Q**2 extracted differential cross section at W = 1.500 GeV and cos(theta(eta) = -0.917, -0.750 and -0.583.
Differential cross sections for γp→ηp have been measured with tagged real photons for incident photon energies from 0.75 to 1.95 GeV. Mesons were identified by missing mass reconstruction using kinematical information for protons scattered in the production process. The data provide the first extensive angular distribution measurements for the process above W=1.75 GeV. Comparison with preliminary results from a constituent quark model support the suggestion that a third S11 resonance with mass ∼1.8 GeV couples to the ηN channel.
Cross sections for photon energies 0.775 to 0.925 GeV.
Cross sections for photon energies 0.975 to 1.125 GeV.
Cross sections for photon energies 1.175 to 1.325 GeV.
Differential cross sections for the exclusive reaction p⃗p→ppη observed via the η→π+π−π0 decay channel have been measured at Tbeam=2.15GeV, 2.50GeV, and 2.85GeV (excess energies 324MeV, 412MeV, and 554MeV). The influence of the N(1535)S11 resonance is clearly seen in the invariant mass and momentum dependent differential cross sections. The extracted resonance parameters are compatible with existing data. No significant evidence for further resonance contributions has been found. In addition, angular distributions of the ppη final state have been measured. The polar angle distribution of the η shows an anisotropy with respect to the beam axis for the lowest beam energy, which vanishes for the higher energies. The sign of this anisotropy is negative and expected to be sensitive to the dominant production mechanism. In contrast, the proton polar angle in the pp rest frame tends to be more strongly aligned along the beam axis with increasing beam energy. The analyzing power Ay is compatible with zero for all beam energies.
Differential cross section for incident kinetic energy 2.15 GeV, divided by the phase space as a function of the invariant mass of the ETA and the final state proton with the lower value of ABS(T). This is proportional to the square of the decay matrix element ABS(M)**2 of the P-ETA system.
Differential cross section for incident kinetic energy 2.50 GeV, divided by the phase space as a function of the invariant mass of the ETA and the final state proton with the lower value of ABS(T). This is proportional to the square of the decay matrix element ABS(M)**2 of the P-ETA system.

A tagged medium-energy neutron beam has been used in a precise measurement of the absolute differential cross section for np back-scattering. The results resolve significant discrepancies within the np database concerning the angular dependence in this regime. The experiment has determined the absolute normalization with 1.5% uncertainty, suitable to verify constraints of supposedly comparable precision that arise from the rest of the database in partial wave analyses. The analysis procedures, especially those associated with evaluation of systematic errors in the experiment, are described in detail so that systematic uncertainties may be included in a reasonable way in subsequent partial wave analysis fits incorporating the present results.

We report measurements of the proton elastic form factors, G E p and G M p , extracted from electron scattering in the range 1⩽ Q 2 ⩽3(GeV/ c ) 2 . The uncertainties are <15% in G E p and <3% in G M p . The values of G E p are larger than indicated by most theoretical parameterizations, The ratio of Pauli and Dirac form factors, Q 2 F 2 p / F 1 p , is lower and demonstrates less Q 2 dependence than most of these parameterizations. Comparisons are made to theoretical models, including those based on perturbative QCD and vector-meson dominance.
