Inspire Record 114031 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.24779

Differential cross sections for elastic p−p scattering have been measured at 285, 348, 398, 414, 455, 497, 530, and 572 MeV kinetic energy. The experiment was performed at the CERN synchrocyclotron, using multiwire proportional chambers placed directly in a proton beam. Scattering was observed for 1.5°≲θ≲10° in the laboratory system. The ratio αp of the real and imaginary parts of the non-spin-flip nuclear forward amplitude was derived from the interference between the Coulomb and nuclear amplitudes. The values obtained are model-dependent, but in this energy range αp is positive and decreases with energy. Qualitatively good agreement with dispersion-relation predictions is observed.

Measurements of $p p \to \pi^+ d$ between 398-MeV and 572-MeV

Aebischer, D. ; Favier, B. ; Greeniaus, L.G. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 108 (1976) 214-238, 1976.
Inspire Record 114332 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.35777

The reaction pp→ π + d was studied at incident proton energies of 398, 455, 497, 530 and 572 MeV. Measurements of dσ/dΩ at 455 and 572 MeV show the presence of pion d-waves in the pion-deuteron system. Asymmetry measurements yield similar conclusions. Total cross-section measurements agree with recent fits to earlier data.

Experimental Results on Elastic Scattering of Protons on the Light Nuclei H-2, H-3, He-3 and He-4 at 600-MeV

Fain, J. ; Gardes, J. ; Lefort, A. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.A 262 (1976) 413-432, 1976.
Inspire Record 114032 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.37107

Differential cross sections for the elastic scattering of protons on 2 H, 3 H, 3 He and 4 He have been measured at 600 MeV. Proton-deuterium elastic scattering is investigated in a four-momentum transfer square t -range corresponding to Coulomb-nuclear interference in order to determine the nucleon-nucleon amplitudes at 600 MeV. For the other nuclei, we investigate the t -range corresponding to the first and second maximum, in order to determine the mechanism of the nuclear process. A few physical comments on the results are made.

Elastic and Inelastic Scattering of 1.044-GeV Protons by Ca-40, Ca-42, Ca-44, Ca-48 and Ti-48

Nucl.Phys.A 274 (1976) 443-462, 1976.
Inspire Record 115074 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.37104

Elastic and inelastic scattering of 1.044 GeV protons have been studied on isotopically enriched even 40, 42, 44, 48 Ca isotopes and 48 Ti. A spin independent Glauber theory analysis of the elastic scattering allowed the extraction of neutron and nuclear matter densities for these targets.

The annihilation\(\bar pn\) → π−π0 has been studied in a D2 bubble chamber at several beam momenta between 1.0 and 1.6 GeV/c. The cross-section has been measured to be (110±15) μb at an average beam momentum of 1.3 GeV/c. The study of the angular distribution shows the presence of anL = 3 wave.

A Study of the Reactions pi+ d --> d pi+ pi- pi+ and pi+ d --> d pi+ pi- pi+ pi0 at 11.7-GeV/c

Nuovo Cim.A 33 (1976) 369-386, 1976.
Inspire Record 114333 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.37673

The two coherent reactions π+d → dπ+π+π− and π+d → → dπ+π+π+π0 are studied in the 2 m DBC at the incoming momentum of 11.7 GeV/c. The production cross-sections are measured:σ=(0.37±±0.06) mb andσ=(0.24±0.05) mb respectively. The two reactions are analysed in the different LPS configurations. The dσ/dt′ distribution for the two reactions displays the same exp[−At′] shape withA⋍37 (GeV/c)−2 in both cases, thus indicating that the differential cross-sections are dominated by the deuteron form factor. The coherent inclastic interaction contains the channel π+d → θ0π+d with a cross-sectionσ==(20±5) µb and a signal for the B+-meson of about 12 µb. The four-pion masses display structures below 2 GeV/c.

Cross-Sections and Multiplicity Distributions for pi- p Interactions at 11.2-GeV/c

Forino, A. ; Gessaroli, R. ; Quareni-Vignudelli, A. ; et al.
Nuovo Cim.A 31 (1976) 696, 1976.
Inspire Record 3101 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.37695

Results are presented concerning topological cross-sections and multiplicity distribution for a π−p experiment at 11.2 GeV/c. The statistics used are one-half of the total ones (106 bubble chamber pictures). Comparison with data at different energies and theoretical predictions are made, and satisfactory agreement is obtained.

Measurements of the Reaction K- n --> pi- Lambda in the c.m.s. Energy Range 2050-MeV to 2175-MeV and Partial Wave Analysis of This Reaction Between 1875-MeV and 2175-MeV

Nucl.Phys.B 104 (1976) 382-396, 1976.
Inspire Record 113111 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.35988

New bubble chamber data on the reaction K − n → π − Λ in the c.m.s. energy range 2050 MeV to 2175 MeV are presented. These new data have been combined with published data on this reaction and on the reaction K − p → π 0 Λ and a partial-wave analysis has been carried out between 1875 MeV and 2175 MeV. Parameters of the established resonances in this c.m.s. energy region have been determined and further evidence is presented for the existence of a Σ resonance with mass around 2100 MeV/ c 2 in the P 3 partial wave.

At the Bonn 500 MeV synchrotron the differential cross sections for the photoproduction of neutral pions on protons and neutrons have been measured in a single experiment using a target of liquid deuterium. The final state has been completely determined by measuring the outgoing pion and one nucleon in coincidence. Measurements of the ratio R = π 0 n/ π 0 p have been done at different angles and energies. The possible existence of an isotensor contribution has been limited to (−2 ± 3)% of the isovector amplitude.
