Ξ− interactions in hydrogen and deuterium are studied close to the forward direction using the CERN charged hyperon beam. The inclusive production of ∑*−(1385),Ξ−,Ξ*0(1530),Ξ*−(1700),Ξ*−(1830), and Ω− is observed, as well as an enhancement in theΞ−π+ channel at 1940 MeV/c2. The momentum distributions and the production cross sections are measured for ∑*−(1385),Ξ−,Ξ*0(1530), and Ω−.

Results on kaon, pion, and proton production in muon-proton scattering are presented for 1<Q2<80 GeV2 with an average Bjorken x of 0.033. The measured particle fractions for z>0.2(z=Phadν) are fπ=0.764±0.028, fK=0.187±0.042, and fp=0.049±0.013. The K±π± ratios as a function of z and pT2 are presented: The ratios increase with z, and with pT2 for z<0.3.

We report final results of a series of measurements of continuum dimuon production in proton-nucleus collisions at Fermilab. New results with 6 times more statistics are included. A full description of the apparatus and methods used in the analysis of this series of measurements is given. The sea quark distribution of the nucleon is determined within the context of Drell-Yan and quantum-chromodynamic description of dilepton production in hadron collisions.

Measurements have been made of the polarisation parameters G and H for the process γ p→ π + n in the photon energy range 600–1875 MeV and pion c.m. angles between 30° and 100°. These data were obtained in a double polarisation experiment, in which the polarised photon beam from the Daresbury electron synchrotron was incident upon a polarised proton target. Theoretical predictions from a current analysis are compared with the data.

We give cross sections for annihilation and non-annihilation reactions in p p interactions at 8.8 GeV. The non-annihilation data are compared with pp data from the same experiment. We compare data on resonance production and on the impact parameter structure of the final states in p p annihilation and non-annihilation and pp interactions. We investigate the charge structure of the 2 π + 2 π − π 0 final state, and find it consistent with a simple quark model.
