Measurements of the production cross-sections of the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson ($H$) decaying into a pair of $\tau$-leptons are presented. The measurements use data collected with the ATLAS detector from $pp$ collisions produced at the Large Hadron Collider at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=13\,\text{TeV}$, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $139\,\text{fb}^{-1}$. Leptonic ($\tau\to\ell\nu_{\ell}\nu_{\tau}$) and hadronic ($\tau\to\text{hadrons}~\nu_{\tau}$) decays of the $\tau$-lepton are considered. All measurements account for the branching ratio of $H\to\tau\tau$ and are performed with a requirement $|y_H|<2.5$, where $y_H$ is the true Higgs boson rapidity. The cross-section of the $pp\to H\to\tau\tau$ process is measured to be $2.94 \pm 0.21 \text{(stat)} ^{+\,0.37}_{-\,0.32} \text{(syst)}$ pb, in agreement with the SM prediction of $3.17\pm0.09~ \mbox{pb}$. Inclusive cross-sections are determined separately for the four dominant production modes: $2.65 \pm 0.41 \text{(stat)} ^{+\,0.91}_{-\,0.67} \text{(syst)}$ pb for gluon$-$gluon fusion, $0.197 \pm 0.028 \text{(stat)} ^{+\,0.032}_{-\,0.026} \text{(syst)}$ pb for vector-boson fusion, $0.115 \pm 0.058 \text{(stat)} ^{+\,0.042}_{-\,0.040} \text{(syst)}$ pb for vector-boson associated production, and $0.033 \pm 0.031 \text{(stat)} ^{+\,0.022}_{-\,0.017} \text{(syst)}$ pb for top-quark pair associated production. Measurements in exclusive regions of the phase space, using the simplified template cross-section framework, are also performed. All results are in agreement with the SM predictions.

Differential cross section for the reaction $^2$H(γ,p)n from 133 to 158 MeV

Nucl.Phys.A 532 (1991) 617-633, 1991.
Inspire Record 1389763 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.36693

The cross section for the reaction 2H(γ, p)n has been measured at laboratory photon energies Eγ = 133−158 MeV and c.m. angles between 30° and 150°. The reaction was induced by a tagged bremsstrahlung photon beam incident on a liquid deuterium target. The uncertainty in the absolute cross sections is ⩽ 5%. There is now reasonable agreement between recent measurements in this energy region and the overall data set now defines the cross section sufficiently well to provide a test of current models of the reaction.

The simultaneous production of pion resonances and strange particles was investigated. The simultaneous production of p 0 mesons and A-K pairs was observed in events characterized by charged particle multiplicity ns = 4 and having cross sections upo = 20 ± 8 ~b. Cross sections for the production of w and YJ resonances are presented. The 1340-MeV peak in the distribution of four-pion effective masses is discussed.

C-12 (gamma,p) B-11 cross-section from 80 to 157 MeV

The C12(γ,p)11B differential cross section has been measured over proton angles ranging from 58° to 128°, using tagged photons of energy 80–157 MeV, for low-lying regions of residual excitation energy in B11. The data have been compared with four different types of calculation. It is shown that scaling of the cross section with momentum mismatch occurs for both the ground-state and excited-state data.

High resolution measurements of C-12 (gamma, n) and the implications for the (gamma, N) reaction mechanism at intermediate-energy

Phys.Rev.Lett. 71 (1993) 2703-2706, 1993.
Inspire Record 352385 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.19720

High resolution measurements of the reaction C12(γ,n) at Eγ∼58 MeV are presented. The distribution of strength to the resolved bound final states in C11 is compared with that of B11 obtained in previous analogous (γ,p) measurements and the implications for the theoretical description of (γ,N) reactions are discussed. These new results confirm the importance of two-nucleon effects in intermediate energy photon absorption and highlight inadequacies in state-of-the-art microscopic calculations of (γ,N) reactions.

Limiting Fragmentation in Oxygen Induced Emulsion Interactions at 14.6-a/{GeV}, 60-a/{GeV} and 200-a/{GeV}

Pseudorapidity distributions of relativistic singly charged particles in oxygen-induced emulsion interactions at 14.6, 60, and 200 GeV/nucleon are studied. Limiting fragmentation behavior is observed in both the target and projectile fragmentation regions for a central as well as for a minimum-bias sample. Comparisons with the fritiof model reveal that the picture of fragmenting strings successfully describes the observed data.

New data on the observation and study of a narrow resonance decaying intoΣ−(1,385)K+ have been obtained. The mass of the resonance is (1,956−6+8) MeV/c2, and its width is (27±15) MeV/c2. The resonance is produced in the diffraction dissociation of neutrons on quasi-free nucleons of carbon nuclei. The slope parameter of the differential cross section inPT2 is (9.9±3.0) (GeV/c)−2. The cross section times the branching ratio is (0.22±0.04) μb per nucleon. The resonance has one of the natural spinparities: 5/2+, 7/2− and so on.
