Differential and channel cross sections and hyperon polarizations are presented for the reactions K L o p → K S o p, π + Λ o , and π + Σ o at an average beam momentum of 550 MeV/ c . These data provide constraints on KN and K N amplitudes obtained from charged kaon reactions and reject one of the S = +1, I = 0 and one of the S = -1, I = 1 phase shift solutions.

The results are presented of two partial-wave analyses of the (3π) − system in 30 000 events of the reaction π − p → π − π − π + p at 11.2 GeV/ c . Both techniques incorporate the assumptions of the isobar model and are (a) the University of Illinois program which fits in terms of the (3π) density matrix elements and (b) an amplitude parametrisaton including possible effects of both spin non-flip and spin flip at the baryon vertex. The results obtained with these independent programs are found to be very close.

On Measuring Spin Rotation Parameter r in pi- p and K- p Elastic Scattering at 40-GeV/c

The Serpukhov-Saclay-Dubna-Moscow collaboration Pierrard, J. ; Bruneton, C. ; Bystricky, J. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 57 (1975) 393-397, 1975.
Inspire Record 99593 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.27839

The spin rotation parameter R has been measured for elastic π − p scattering at 40 GeV/ c , at four momentum transfers t ranging from −0.19 to −0.52 (GeV/ c ) 2 . The average value within this interval is R π − p = -0.200± 0.023. The resulting constraints on the πN scattering amplitudes are discussed. The experiments also yields an average value for K − p scattering, R K − p scattering, R K − p = -0.16±0.16.

Polarization Measurements in pi- p, K- p and p p Elastic Scattering at 40-GeV/c

We report final results on the polarization parameter P in elastic scattering of π − , K − and antiprotons at 40 GeV/ c incident momentum. The energy dependence of P (t) in π − p above 10 GeV/ c is well fitted by P (t) α s αR(t)-α P (t) where α R (t) are the effective Regge and Pomeron trajectories respectively. The data in K − p are compatible with exchange degeneracy. The results inp¯p show an important structure for |t|> 0.3 (GeV/c) 2 demonstrating the existence of a large helicity flip amplitude.

Study of the anti-K0 p --> Lambda pi+, Sigma0 pi+ Reactions in the Energy Range of 1.5-GeV to 2.3-GeV

The total and differential cross sections of the K¯0p→Λπ+ and K¯0p→∑0π+ reactions have been measured in the centre-of-mass energy range of l.5 to 2.3 GeV. Using our K¯0p→∑0π+ data as well as available cross-section data of isospin related channels, we have calculated the total I=0K¯N→∑π cross section as function of energy. The results are compared with predictions obtained from K¯N phase-shift analyses.

Vector meson production by 4.3 GeV polarized photons on deuterium

Inspire Record 98707 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.35922

Cross sections for γd and γn interactions and photoproduction of ϱ 0 and ω are studied at 4.3 GeV, using a linearly polarized photon beam in a deuterium bubble chamber. We find that σ T (γ n ) ⋍ σ T (γ p ) within about 5% and that the γn average charge multiplicity is lower than γp by 0.42±0.09. About 4000 ϱ 0 events and 70 coherent ω events are observed. We present total and differential cross sections for both xoherent and incoherent ϱ 0 production on deuterium, as well as decay angular distributions and density-matrix elements. We find that the t -channel isospin-one exchange amplitude in γ N → ϱ 0 N (e.g. A 2 exchange) is at most 5–13% of the dominant isoscalar amplituds. The ϱ 0 production mechanism is dominantly s -channel helicity-conserving (SHC) on both neutrons and protons. We find that relative to the SHC amplitudes, the single and double helicity-flip amplitudes at the γϱ 0 vertex are of the order of 10–15% for | t | > 0.25 GeV 2 , and have the same sign on both nucleons. This shows that helicity-flip is mainly due to isoscalar exchanges. The ratio of ω to ϱ 0 coherent forward cross sections is found to be 0.16±0.04. The natural-parity exchange part of γ N → ω N is strongly dominated by isoscalar exchanges, and the magnitude of the isovector-exchange is consistent with zero.

Photoproduction of pi+ Mesons on Polarized Protons

Nucl.Phys.B 92 (1975) 196-206, 1975.
Inspire Record 98235 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.32060

The asymmetry of the cross sections for the photoproduction of π + mesons on polarized protons γ + p↑ → π + + n has been studied in the four-momentum transfer range 0.1 ⩽ | t | ⩽ 1.25 (GeV/ c ) 2 for photon energies of 2.5, 3.4 and 5.0 GeV. The measurements were carried out on a polarized butanol target. Both particles in the final state were detected: the pion by a magnetic spectrometer, the recoil nucleon in a scintillation counter matrix. The asymmetry was found to be negative with values around −0.4.

As part of a program to determine proton-proton elastic-scattering amplitudes, we have measured the spin-spin correlation parameter CNN at 6 GeV/c. Measurements were made over the |t| range of 0.08 to 1.4 (GeV/c)2 using a polarized beam and a polarized target at the Argonne National Laboratory Zero Gradient Synchrotron.

Inspire Record 91427 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.32062

We present the results of a formation experiment for the reaction K − p → Λπ 0 in the cms energy between 2200 and 2436 MeV with a total statistics of 10 eV/μb. A partial-wave analysis including these new data gives evidence for the existence of three resonances in the P 3 , D 5 and G 9 (or H 11 ) states in this mass region.

Phys.Rev.D 10 (1974) 2778, 1974.
Inspire Record 90220 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.24943

We report on the measurement of asymmetries in the single-pion photoproduction reactions γp→nπ+, γp→pπ0, and γn→pπ−, induced by linearly polarized photons of energies from 610 to 940 MeV. The experiment was carried out using the back-scattered laser beam and the 82-in. dubble chamber at SLAC. We compare the new data with predictions from a partial-wave analysis.
