The differential cross section for neutron-proton elastic scattering was measured in the diffraction region with incident neutron momenta between 5 and 30 GeV/ c . The experiment was an optical-spark-chamber-counter experiment conducted at the Brookhaven National Laboratory alternating gradient synchrotron. A well collimated neutron beam with a broad energy spectrum was incident on a liquid hydrogen target. The scattered neutrons were detected in a thick-plate spark-chamber array while the recoil protons were detected and momentum analyzed in a magnetic spectrometer with thin-foil spark chambers.

Total and differential cross sections are presented for the reactions K − p → K − p and K − p → K o n at 13 points in the c.m. energy range 1915–2168 MeV. An energy-dependent partial-wave analysis is carried out on these data together with the polarisation measurements of Daum et al. [1] and the total cross section measurements [2] within this energy range. The well known Σ(1915), Σ(2030) and Λ(2100) are observed and their resonance parameters measured. Structure is also found in the D 05 and F 07 waves. An SU(3) analysis of the 5 2 + octet, 7 2 + decuplet and 7 2 − singlet gives generally good agreement between theory and experiment except that the elasticity of the Σ(1915) is experimentally rather larger than predicted.

DETERMINED BY NORMALIZING AT ZERO DEG TO TOTAL CROSS SECTIONS VIA THE OPTICAL THEOREM.
Results are presented on elastic scattering of 10.1 GeV/ c K − mesons on protons, based on a sample of 16 261 kinematically-fitted bubble-chamber events. The differential cross section is given over the | t |- range of 0.06 to 2.5 GeV 2 and is fitted with the expressions a e bt , A e Bt + Ct 2 and ( P e Qt + Re St ) over various intervals of t . The results are compared with those of other experiments at nearby energies. Upper limits of | α | < 0.28 and σ B < 0.4 μ b (both at a 90% confidence level) are given for the ratio of real to imaginary part of the forward-scattering amplitude and the backward-elastic-scattering cross section, respectively.

We have completed measurements of the differential cross section for γ+p→π0+p, and the asymmetry with polarized photons, for incident photon energies from 4 to 18 GeV and momentum transfers between t=−0.1 and −1.4 (GeV/c)2. The experiment was performed at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, using the SLAC 1.6-GeV/c spectrometer to analyze protons recoiling from a hydrogen target. For the cross-section measurements a normal collimated bremsstrahlung beam was used. For the asymmetry measurements the polarized photons were produced by coherent bremsstrahlung from a diamond crystal, and a coincidence was required between the recoil proton and one of the π0 decay photons in a shower counter.

We present the results on total channel cross-sections obtained in the Saclay 180 l HBC exposed to a separated K− beam at Nimrod. The cross-sections for each channel are given at 13 incident K− momenta between 1.26 and 1.84 GeV/c.

The polarized target asymmetry parameter has been measured for single π o photoproduction from hydrogen at 4 GeV and values of four-momentum transfer squared between −0.15 (GeV/ c ) 2 and −1.8 (GeV/ c ) 2 .

Final states ηΛ and η ′ Λ were studied in K − p interactions at 3.95 GeV c . Cross sections, angular distributions and Λ polarizations are reported. Lambda production is studied in K − p interactions at 10.1 GeV/ c , where the dominant reaction is K − p → Λ + pions. General characteristics such as the distributions of the double differential cross section in the lab system, of the variable x = p L ∗ p max ∗ , of p ⊥ 2 and of the missing mass to the lambda are presented. Total cross sections for Λ production and for the various channels are given. Differential cross sections d σ d t , d σ d t′ and d σ d u′ are presented. Forward and backward peaks are observed in the d σ d t′ and d σ d u′ distributions, respectively. It is found that the exponential slope of these distributions decreases with increasing missing mass to the lambda and, for d σ d t′ , also for increasing multiplicity in the final state. The polarization of the lambdas is studied as a function of multiplicity, p L ∗ , (Λπ ± ) effective mass, t ′ and u ′. The forward lambdas show
