Measurements at 19 beam kinetic energies between 1795 and 2235 MeV are reported for the pp elastic scattering spin correlation parameter A00nn=ANN=CNN. The c.m. angular range is typically 60–100°. The measurements were performed at Saturne II with a vertically polarized beam and target (transverse to the beam direction and scattering plane), a magnetic spectrometer and a recoil detector, both instrumented with multiwire proportional chambers, and beam polarimeters. These results are compared to previous data from Saturne II and elsewhere.

In exposures of the Argonne National Laboratory 12-ft bubble chamber filled with hydrogen and deuterium to a neutrino beam, we have observed events consisting of (1) a single π+ meson originating in the liquid, and (2) a proton with an e+e− pair pointing to it. Only a small fraction of these events can be ascribed to known reactions such as np→nnπ+ and np→npπ0. The remaining events, which correspond to a signal of about 4.5 standard deviations, we ascribe to the reactions νp→νnπ+ and νpπ0.

Differential Cross-sections of Proton Compton Scattering at Photon Laboratory Energies Between 1.2-{GeV} and 1.7-{GeV}

Z.Phys.C 17 (1983) 319, 1983.
Inspire Record 182590 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.50210

Differential cross sections of proton Compton scattering have been measured at the Bonn 2.5 GeV synchrotron. The experiment covers photon laboratory energies between 1.2 GeV and 1.7 GeV and the square of the four-momentum transfer ranges fromt=−0.17 GeV2 to −0.98GeV2 corresponding to c.m. scattering angles between 35° and 80°. The cross sections exhibit a forward peak followed by a monotone fall-off up to the largest measured |t|-values. Fits of the formdσ/dt=A·exp(Bt) to the data points with |t|≦0.5 GeV2 yield forward cross sectionsA, which are consistent with the 0° cross sections calculated from the measured total photon-proton cross section. The average slope isB=5.6±0.14 GeV2.
