High statistics data for the reactions K ± p → K S 0 π ± p at 10 GeV/ c are analysed. The K ∗ (1 − ), K ∗ (2 + ), and K ∗ (3 − ) resonance parameters and production cross sections are calculated. The Kπ production amplitudes are determined as a function of t and the produced Kπ mass. Isoscalar natural-parity-exchange (NPE) is dominant. The t dependence of the K ± NPE amplitudes have a cross-over at t = −0.3 (GeV/ c ) 2 for both K ∗ (890) and K ∗ (1420) production, being more pronounced for the K ∗ (1420). Natural-parity-exchange interference effects are isolated. The NPE amplitudes are decomposed into pomeron-, f-, and ω-exchange contributions. S-wave Kπ production is found to be consistent with the Kπ partial-wave analyses of charge-exchange reactions.

Electroproduction of Single Pions at Low Epsilon and a Measurement of the Pion Form-Factor Up to Q**2 = 10-GeV**2

Bebek, C.J. ; Brown, C.N. ; Holmes, Stephen D. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 17 (1978) 1693, 1978.
Inspire Record 120118 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.4472

We report measurements of the electroproduction of single charged pions from hydrogen and deuterium targets for values of ε in the range 0.35<ε<0.45. Data were taken with a hydrogen target at the (W, Q2) points (2.15 GeV, 1.2 GeV2), (2.65, 2.0), (2.65, 3.4), (2.65, 6.0), and (2.65, 10.0). Data were taken with a deuterium target at the (W, Q2) points (2.15, 1.2) and (2.65, 2.0). The transverse cross section obtained by using these data in conjunction with earlier data at high ε to separate the longitudinal and transverse components is used in conjunction with the new data and the t-channel Born term to determine the pion form factor and to re-evaluate previously reported measurements. In the range 0.15 GeV2

Inclusive charged pion electroproduction

Bebek, C.J. ; Brown, C.N. ; Herzlinger, M.S. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 15 (1977) 3085, 1977.
Inspire Record 120119 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.4561

We report measurements of semi-inclusive pion electroproduction from both hydrogen and deuterium targets carried out at the Wilson Synchrotron Laboratory at Cornell University. Measurements were made at the (W, Q2) points (2.15 GeV, 1.2 GeV2), (2.15, 4.0), and (3.11, 1.2) with hydrogen and deuterium, and at (2.15, 2.0), (2.67, 3.3), and (3.11, 1.7) with hydrogen only. The invariant virtual-photoproduction cross section for pions scaled by the total cross section is studied as a function of x′, pT2, W, and Q2. The invariant structure function shows no Q2 dependence and a weak W dependence. The ratio of π+ to π− production is also presented, but a distinction between a universal ω or W dependence cannot be made.

Electroproduction of $\phi$ mesons

Dixon, Roger L. ; Galik, R. ; Herzlinger, M. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 39 (1977) 516, 1977.
Inspire Record 120120 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20949

We report measurements of the electroproduction of ϕ mesons from hydrogen at Q2 values of 0.23, 0.43, and 0.97 GeV2 with |t| varying from 0.125 to 1.3 GeV2 at each Q2 point. The data show no evidence for a Q2 dependence of the slope of the t distribution; the forward cross section falls with increasing Q2 as the square of the ϕ propagator; the decay angular distributions agree with the predictions of s-channel helicity conservation; and the ratio of the longitudinal to the transverse component increases linearly with Q2.

Amplitudes and Exchange Mechanisms for K* Resonances Produced by the Reactions K+- p --> K*+- p at 10-GeV/c

Phys.Lett.B 70 (1977) 377-382, 1977.
Inspire Record 126179 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.27517

We compare production of the low mass K π -resonances by K + and K − beams in the non-charge-exchange reactions K ± p → K 0 s π ± p at 10 GeV/ c . High statistics data, obtained with the same apparatus, allow extraction of the K ∗ (890) and K ∗ (1420) production amplitudes corresponding to unnatural and natural parity exchange in the t -channel. The NPE-part dominates in both charge states. Its t -dependence shows a strong crossover at t ≈ −0.3 (GeV/ c ) 2 for the K ∗ (1420). For the K ∗ (890) the crossover is weaker but it occurs at the same value of t . This behaviour can be explained by pomeron, f and ω Regge exchange contributions to the NPE amplitude. The UPE amplitudes agree, both in normalisation and t -dependence, with the expectations of π and B exchange as isolated from data for the charge exchange reaction K − p → (K − π + )n.

Properties of Inclusive Hadron Spectra in Muon Nucleon Scattering at 150-GeV/c

Phys.Rev.Lett. 36 (1976) 1422, 1976.

We have studied muon-produced hadrons from a deuterium target. The structure functions and the charge ratios are reported for neutrons; the transverse momentum and azimuthal distributions are reported for deuterons. The structure function for the neutron is similar to that of the proton. The charge ratio of produced hadrons follows the expectation of a simple spin-½ quark model. Transverse-momentum results agree with those at lower energy and are similar to those from hadron-hadron interactions. No azimuthal anisotropy is seen.
