Transverse momentum distributions of λ o , λ o , and K o , produced in pp collisions at x = 0, have obtained at the CERN ISR. The K o yield is in agreement with published K + , K − results, obtained at this centre-of-mass energy (√ s ≈44 GeV). The results on λ o and λ o production obtained in this experiment are compared with results obtained at lower centre-of-mass energies.

The inclusive production of π and η mesons at 90° from proton-proton collisions has been measured at the CERN ISR at centre-of-mass energies between 23.5 and 62.4 GeV. The momentum correlation of charged particles emitted together with a large transverse momentum pion has also been studied, using two magnetic spectrometers each centred at 90°.

The π − p→n γ and π − p→n π ° differential cross sections have been measured for −0.9< cos θ ∗ <−0.45 (θ ∗ c.m. scattering angle) at 475 MeV/ c and 550 MeV/ c incident momenta. The π − p→n γ measurement is a good check of the detailed balance principle in the electromagnetic interactions of hadrons at these energies and is in good agreement with Walker's analysis. On the other hand the π − p→ π °n extrapolated values of 180° allows one to verify that the phases of the A 1 2 and A 3 2 amplitudes are equal.

BACKWARD CROSS SECTION ESTIMATED BY LEGENDRE POLYNOMIAL FIT.
A sample of 7253 $K^\pm\to\pi^\pm e^+e^-(\gamma)$ decay candidates with 1.0% background contamination has been collected by the NA48/2 experiment at the CERN SPS, allowing a precise measurement of the decay properties. The branching ratio in the full kinematic range was measured to be ${\rm BR}=(3.11\pm0.12)\times 10^{-7}$, where the uncertainty includes also the model dependence. The shape of the form factor $W(z)$, where $z=(M_{ee}/M_K)^2$, was parameterized according to several models, and, in particular, the slope $\delta$ of the linear form factor $W(z)=W_0(1+\delta z)$ was determined to be $\delta=2.32\pm0.18$. A possible CP violating asymmetry of $K^+$ and $K^-$ decay widths was investigated, and a conservative upper limit of $2.1\times 10^{-2}$ at 90% CL was established.
The $d\Gamma_{\pi ee}/dz$ spectrum (background subtracted, corrected for trigger efficiency). Systematic errors, notably the external one due to the branching ratios of the normalization decay mode according to PDG 2008, are not included.

We report Λ 0 -hyperon polarization measurements at the CERN intersecting storage rings from √ s of 31 to 62 GeV. P Λ 0 changes insignificantly, +(0.8±1.7)%, over this range of √ s . However, P Λ 0 is observed to grow with Feynman- x F and with transverse momentum. At an average p t of 1.1 GeV/ c , P Λ 0 depends linearly on x F and approaches −40% at x F =0.8.

Significant differences are observed between forward-produced Δ ++ (1232) and Λ 0 's in pp interactions and their corresponding anti-particles in p p interactions, as expected from quark counting and single q q annihilation. p p and pp elastic scattering differential cross sections are presented for momentum transfer 0.6< t <2.1 GeV 2 and √ s = 53 GeV. Measurements were made in the same apparatus at the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings. The p p and pp results are in statistical agreement with one another over the entire t range, although the point at t =1.32 GeV 2 is 1.5 σ above the pp data. The p p points appear to have the same shape as the predictions of Donnachie and Landshoff but are significantly lower in magnitude for 0.9< t <1.5 GeV 2 .
