Proton and antiproton total cross sections on protons and deuterons have been measured at 50, 100, 150, and 200 GeV/c. The proton cross sections rise with increasing momentum. Antiproton cross sections fall with increasing momentum, but the rate of fall decreases between 50 and 150 GeV/c, and from 150 to 200 GeV/c there is little change in cross section.

Total cross sections of π± and K± on protons and deuterons have been measured at 50, 100, 150, and 200 GeV/c. All of the cross sections rise with increasing momentum.

PARTICLE-ANTIPARTICLE CROSS SECTION DIFFERENCES - SOME COMMON ERRORS CANCEL.
The differential cross section d σ d t′ for the charge-exchange process π + p → π 0 ( π + p) at 8, 16 and 23 GeV/ c is presented for several regions of the π + p effective mass. It is found that the dip at t ′ ≈ 0.6 (GeV/ c ) 2 which is observed in the Δ(1236) mass band becomes a less pronounced structure in the higher mass regions. However, while the slope of the d σ d t′ distributions in the near-forward direction decreases strongly with increasing π + p mass, there is no evidence that the observed structure moves to higher values of t ′ as the π + p mass increases. These results are consistent with a Regge-exchange picture where the position of the dip is determined by the exchanged trajectory, but are inconsistent with a simple geometrical picture.
TP DEPENDENCE FOR FOUR <PI+ P> MASS INTERVALS.
Inclusive proton production in pp interactions at 205 GeV/c is studied using the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) 30-in. bubble chamber. The invariant cross section is presented in terms of several kinematic variables and compared with similar data obtained from counter experiments at Fermilab and at the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings (ISR). An important feature of this experiment is that it provides data for much wider ranges of the four-momentum transfer than have been attained in the counter experiments. It also gives full information on the associated charged-particle multiplicity of every event, thus permitting a detailed investigation of how various kinematic quantities depend on this parameter.

In an exposure of the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory 30-in. bubble chamber to a beam of 205-GeV/c protons, we have determined total and differential cross sections for the inclusive reactions p+p→γ+X, π0+X, (K0K¯0)+X, Λ+X. Invariant distributions in x indicate that for γ, K0, Λ production, scaling has set in somewhere before 69 GeV. The γ differential cross sections are consistent with the relation dσdPu(π0)=12[dσdPu(π+)+dσdPu(π−)] for all Pu, where Pu=PL* or P⊥. The differential cross sections for Λ and K0 production indicate a break in the distribution at |t−tmin|=1.5(GeVc)2 and 0.5(GeVc)2, respectively. The Λ polarization is found to be - (0.25 ± 0.26), consistent with zero throughout the x region.

Differential cross sections for elastic scattering of negative kaons on protons are presented for 13 incident laboratory momenta between 1094 MeV/c and 1377 MeV/c. The data show the characteristic forward diffraction-like peak and backward dip and are adequately described in shape by certain published partial-wave analyses of the N system.

The reaction γ + p → Φ + p has been measured using a spark chamber spectrometer and a tagged photon beam in the energy range from 4.6 to 6.7 GeV. Approximately 3500 photoproduced elastic Φ-events have been collected in the t -range between t min and t = −0.4 (GeV/ c ) 2 . Cross sections and t -distributions are presented.
NO MARKED ENERGY DEPENDENCE.

The reaction K + p→ Δ ++ (1236)+ anything is studied at beam momenta 8.2 and 16 GeV/ c and compared with other Δ ++ producing reactions. We find that the low-mass Δ ++ π − enhancement affects the shapes of Δ ++ inclusive distributions. The triple-Regge formula is found to be consistent with the data. Dual properties of this formula are successfully tested.
