REACTION K+ P ---> K N PI PI AT 4.27-GeV/c INCIDENT MOMENTUM

Gelfand, N.M. ; Lasinski, B. ; Leary, P. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 26 (1982) 2973-2978, 1982.
Inspire Record 184512 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.23895

The cross sections for K+p interactions at a center-of-mass energy of 3 GeV (4.3 GeV/c incident momentum) have been determined for the K+pπ+π−, K0pπ+π0, and K0π+π+n final states. The shape of the differential cross section dσdt′ for the quasi-two-body final state K*0(890)+Δ++(1236) is not a single exponential. Characteristics of the low-mass Kππ and pππ enhancements are discussed.

BACKWARD ELASTIC SCATTERING AND RHO- PRODUCTION IN PI- P COLLISIONS AT 10-GEV/C

The BARI-BONN-CERN-GLASGOW-LIVERPOOL-MILAN-VIENNA collaboration Ghidini, B. ; Lenti, V. ; Palano, A. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 195 (1982) 12-28, 1982.
Inspire Record 177922 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.26084

The reactions π − p → p π − and π − p → p ϱ − ( ϱ − → π − π 0 ) at 10 GeV/ c with the proton in the forward direction in the c.m.s. are discussed on the basis of 953 elastic scattering events and 2240 events of the reaction π − p → p π − π 0 . The total backward cross sections are 0.52±0.10 and 1.52±0.28 μ b, respectively. In both cases the production mechanism is compatible with the dominance of the baryonic Δ δ Regge trajectory exchange. The ϱ − decay angular distributions are studied in the u -channel helicity frame and the spin density matrix elements are presented as functions of u .

DECAY OF B MESONS INTO CHARGED AND NEUTRAL KAONS

The CLEO collaboration Brody, A. ; Chen, A. ; Goldberg, M. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 48 (1982) 1070-1074, 1982.
Inspire Record 180612 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.27749

Data on inclusive kaon production in e+e− annihilations at energies in the vicinity of the ϒ(4S) resonance are presented. A clear excess of kaons is observed on the ϒ(4S) compared to the continuum. Under the assumption that the ϒ(4S) decays into BB¯, a total of 3.38±0.34±0.68 kaons per ϒ(4S) decay is found. In the context of the standard B-decay model this leads to a value for (b→c)(b→all) of 1.09±0.33±0.13.

A Study of Deep Inelastic Hadron - Hadron Collisions with a Large Acceptance Calorimeter Trigger

The Bari-Cracow-Liverpool-Munich-Nijmegen collaboration De Marzo, C. ; De Palma, M. ; Distante, A. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 112 (1982) 173-177, 1982.
Inspire Record 176541 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.34014

Large transverse energy cross sections of 300 GeV/ c pions and protons on hydrogen have been measured with a segmented calorimeter covering the central rapidity region −0.88 < y < 0.67 and 2 π in azimuth. The selected events show large multiplicities and no jet-like event structure. Processes more complicated than the scattering of two constituents appear to dominate these inelastic collisions.

SEARCH FOR NONSTRANGE BARYONIUM STATES IN THE BARYON EXCHANGE REACTION K- P ---> Y0 ANTI-P P AT 18.5-GeV/c

The BARI-BIRMINGHAM-CERN-MILAN-PARIS-PAVIA collaboration Armstrong, T. ; Baubillier, M. ; Beusch, W. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 206 (1982) 185-192, 1982.
Inspire Record 184140 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.34058

Narrow baryonium production in the baryon exchange reactions K − p → Λ p p and K − p → pK − p p at 18.5 GeV/ c is investigated in a 12 events/nb experiment performed at the CERN Ω′ spectrometer. No narrow structure is observed in the p p mass spectra. Upper limits for production of baryonium states are given as a function of p p mass.

Production of ϱ 0 , K ∗0 , K ∗0 , and φ have been measured in proton-proton collisions at the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings (ISR) at low p T in the central region. The transverse mass spectra are well described by exp (− aμ T ), with a = −6.4±0.2 GeV −1 . The cross sections for d σ/ d y| y=0 are 6.5±0.8±1.2 mb for ϱ 0 , 1.9±0.3±0.3 mb for K ∗) , 1.9±03±03 mb for K ∗0 , and 60.±0.12±0.13 mb for φ , where the first error is statistical and the second is sytematic.

RADIATIVE WIDTH OF THE A2 (1310)

Inspire Record 182836 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30869

Using the Primakoff formalism, we have extracted the radiative decay width of the A + 2 (1310) produced in coherent interactions of 200 GeV/ c π + mesons in nuclear targets. The width obtained is 295 ± 60 keV, a value consistent with quark-model predictions.

Phys.Lett.B 112 (1982) 183-188, 1982.
Inspire Record 176647 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30953

Results are presented from the first p p colliding beam runs at the CERN ISR, using the UA5 streamer chamber detector. p p interactions at s = 53 GeV are compared with pp data taken in the same experiment. The results are in good agreement with extrapolations of low-energy p p data.
